Hey sorry to revive such a old topic but im in the boat for the same monitor for black friday.

Should i get the 2546 or save 90 euro's and go with the 2540?
You guys are talking about 2546 having input lag or is that only with dyAc turned on?
And can i turn this completely off in the menu or do i need to acces the service menu to turn it off?

Thnx in advance.

If you like brighter blur reduction, the XL2546 uses brighter voltage boosted blur reduction (300 nit).

Why not consider the newer 240Hz 1ms IPS? Every bit as fast as a typical 1ms TN.

Hi people I'm reviving this old topic too!

I need your advices as I am hesitating between XL2540 and XL2546, it will be purely for online competitive games and mostly CS:GO.

I like to play the game with a stretched downgraded resolution of 1024x768 or 1280x1024 (I don't know if that makes a difference). I want to go for a 240hz monitor as I want to maximize the fluidity!

I guess I should go for the lower input lag, which one would you recommend me? Is the XL2546 worth the extra money? Or is there in 2020 a better display to consider?

My graphic card is a amd 5700xt (idk if that makes a difference too)

Thanks a lot for your help guys!

You probably won't be using adaptive sync in that case, which is the only advantage the XL2540 has over the XL2546. The XL2546 supports backlight strobing, which I like (both in CSGO and in other games), but my understanding is that if you turn that feature off then the XL2540 and XL2546 will be functionally identical. So basically you have to decide if you want to save $100 and have adaptive sync support or have dynamic accuracy.

With that said, though I quite like my XL2546, if I were going to buy one today I'd get the XG270. It's an IPS panel (the Zowie monitors are TN), can strobe at lower Hz than the XL2546, supports adaptive sync, and is cheaper than the Xl2546 in the US. Plus, if my understanding of its pre-calibration is correct, the XG270 will have as-good-as-or-probably-better motion clarity at lower Hz than the XL2546 without the need to fiddle with custom resolutions.

Hey there, thanks a lot for your response

The XG270 looks very interesting but unfortunately 27inch might be a bit too much for me and I didn't find any information for the input lag on this screen.

About blur reduction I learned that ULMB is only Nvidia compatible and since I have an AMD car, I should go for a panel that has motion blur reduction technology implemented I guess...

For the moment XL2546 looks the most interesting, but there is the AORUS Kd25f which looks good too, I think it is a new panel and i didn't find info on it about motion blur and input lag, do yall got something on this?

Thanks

Hello, I am brand new in the forum and wanted to ask (since I can not find information anywhere else) whether there are other differences besides the price and the Dyac / brightness function such as latency / input delay etc.
Since the two monitors cost about the same amount in my local store (€ 400)
I just noticed that a lot of top tier csgo pros (s1mple, niko, electronic, and many more still used the XL2540 and not the "newer" XL2546 and I guess it's not the money because the top players getting the monitor sponsored) I just wonder if the XL2540 isn't the "better" of the two monitors, apart from the price / Dyac / brightness boost?

Maybe I'm completely wrong, after all, I haven't admitted much of the whole thing, so I hope to get more information here! Thank you in advance =)

Both XL2540 and XL2546 are back from 2017. If you like BenQ Zowie brand, I'd recommend to wait for new monitors from them.

I don't think a new model will come out because BenQ has only recently released the "XL2546" as Divina Blue and Pink Edition.
In addition, it does not bring anything more than 240Hz because there are no more than 5 esport games where the monitor is useful.
Unfortunately, that doesn't answer my question either.

Ok, I was wondering about the actual difference between the XL2540 and XL2546 and after not getting a very conclusive answer online I just went ahead and ordered both of them to test side by side.
TLDR: My XL2546 has much worse crosstalk with DyAc on than my XL2540 with Backlight strobing on via Blurbuster Utility Tool but this is very likely just caused by getting lucky on quality of the 2540.

The only positive I noticed the 2546 had over the 2540 is being slightly brighter with DyAc turned on, which is noticable but I wouldn't say it actually makes the monitor better than it's cheaper version.

Sadly I don't have a camera that can capture this fast moving pictures with good enough quality, so I can't provide any pictures to show the difference in crosstalk.

In my country the price difference between the 2540 and the 2546 is almost 150€ so the decision for is made but it is very subjective and dependend on luck regarding the quality.

If you have the option I'd do the same as I did and compare them directly but if you don't have that option I'd go for the 2540 given that it is quite alot cheaper for maybe a bit better chance to get good quality and a bit brighter screen with DyAc on.
