Hi, new member here.
I just got a zowie xl2536 (no need for 240hz), and it does make me happy to see very clear moving image @120fps+120hz. Thing is that I play mostly 60fps fighting games, so I got the double image @60hz (with double strobe) or 120hz.
Is it possible to enable 60hz single strobe here? I see no possiblity in trobe utility 1.5/2.0---with ini change I can use 2.0 but no single strobe option.
Here is the information of my panel:
model: xl2536
vender: QISDA
panel: BMS Q250HTN00 A100
scaler: MST9104Q1
fm: V003 20170920
Edit: delete some details for clearer view. And some new questions:
Now I returned the xl2436 and still hunting. It looks I don't have many choices of old model in china. For example we only have zowie xl2411, no benq xl2411z. Does zowie xl2411 support single strobe like xl2411z? If so how about xl2411p which is newer?
Also there are several samsung TV models which do 60hz single strobe, but looks they cannot do it in "game mode" where input lag is low. Is there such a tv set that have both single strobe and low input lag?

If i recall correctly from Falkentyne these newer Zowie/Benq don't have any Single strobe options. You might be able to do some extreme VT tweaks but i don't remember anyone getting single strobe to work.

Thanks. I also saw some online picture about older xl27xx model which has a single strobe option in service menu, while mine doesn't. Looks no way to make it work. My own fault to have not done my home work well. Gonna return it, perhaps get a older model later.

Or should I consider the ulmb 60hz hack? Will it be better than a xl2411z?

The ULMB 60 Hz hack works well!zhenlw wrote:And some new questions:

However, it only works with PC games and not console games. It requires custom signal timings in ToastyX CRU. Which a console does not have.

Re: got a zowie xl2536, possible to enable 60hz single strob
Are you guys talking about the GSYNC+ULMB hack found by Masterotaku?
I still don't have a dell TN monitor to try this on (i heard it works on some other Gsync monitors, and shouldn't matter if its 2560x1440 or 1920x1080 as long as you change the Vertical Total by the proper amount, but I have no way to test that).
Yes its a shame that Benq didn't just make all the strobe options single strobe. I know Chief tried to contact them about this but either they don't care, or Chief can't reach the right people.
I was going to ask you, but you already returned the monitor did you try creating a 60hz custom refresh rate, and using the same vertical total that is usually used for 100hz? This isn't possible on the older monitors which DID have the single strobe option (e.g. VT 1500 at 60hz just goes out of range with a black screen error), yet, 61hz with VT 1500 *DID* work.
I'm not doing well financially, but If i was, I would have purchased one of these newer Benqs to see what I could do with them.

Re: got a zowie xl2536, possible to enable 60hz single strob
No, it's a hack that enables just ULMB at 60Hz (or other fixed refresh rates, down to sub-50Hz IIRC.) It basically circumvents the default limit of 85Hz as the lowest ULMB mode. And since ULMB is always single-strobe, you get true 60Hz strobing.Falkentyne wrote:Are you guys talking about the GSYNC+ULMB hack found by Masterotaku?

Thank you.
if I ever buy that Dell S2617DG for ULMB+Gsync maybe I'll try this. Just hope it works through a laptops's mini DP port.

Thanks guys for the info. Sorry I didn't keep the monitor long enough to help with some tests, Falkentyne.
To think about it I need to save some money recently too, so perhaps wait a while for the game monitor/TV, or go cheaper and safe with xl2411.
