BENQ ZOWIE XL2540 | Blur Image\Text - Blur Gaming

Post by ruihater » 01 Sep 2018, 09:53

Hello, Guys\Gals\Busters,

Maybe this issue was addressed before, but after 2 days of researching in forums, I couldn't find anything related to this issue.

I've recently purchased the BENQ XL2540 and I am experiencing a very ugly Blurry Windows 10, unplayable blurry PUBG with bad visibility overall and the text in other games like WoW is barely readable. While playing some OW, it doesn't let me feel the downside effects of this somehow or maybe can't notice them.

I've been trying to find the best calibration settings\profile for competitive gaming, as well as the best OSD settings.
At the moment I'm running with:

Picture Mode: Standard
Brightness: 100
Contrast: 50
Sharpness:7-10 (trying different values to see the results - still bad)
Gama: 3
Color Temp: Normal
AMA: HIGH (can't tell if Premium is worse or better)

Black eQualizer: 5-20 (trying different values to see the results - still bad)
Color Vibrance: 14 (this only changes the color saturation, so its fine)
Low Blue Light: 0
Instant Mode: ON

Im currently using the following in my both monitors:

NVIDIA Control Panel Settings - https://imgur.com/a/R6065ZS
BenQ XL2540 Resolution - https://imgur.com/a/gX3lMbd
BenQ XL2540 Scalling - https://imgur.com/a/2BwKEHf
Dell S2417DG Resolution - https://imgur.com/a/N24W24F
Dell S2417DG Scalling - https://imgur.com/a/ZItML88
Dell S2417DG G-SYNC is OFF

As for Windows Settings I am using:

System Properties - Advanced - PC Performance: Adjust For Best Performance
Power Options: High Performance

Main PC SPECS:

z270 Prime-A
i7 - 7700k
Asus Strix GTX 1080 OC
16gb DDR4 3200 MHZ
500 GB M.2

---------------------------------------

TL;DR:
I didn't change anything in the Service Menu or Factory Menu, of the XL2540. Blur Reduction is OFF there with all the other Default Settings.
Still, need some help configuring this monitor, and need some advice if it is needed or not some calibration for gaming.
Really need to get rid of this visibility issues, blurriness, and strange looking windows \ gaming.
The main objective is Competitive Gaming with the fastest response time and the lowest input lag.

Thank you for the help.

There are many different things that look like display motion blur: If you can tell me which ONE of the blur-related artifacts is the one bothering you the most at the moment, then it will become much easier to help you. Ghosting, coronas, display motion blur, strobe crosstalk, microstutter, etc.

Also:
-- Also, is the problem visible with static images? Or only in motion?
-- Also, is the problem visible at www.testufo.com ?
-- Does the Dell or Benq look better (at the same framerate)?
-- Does turning on GSYNC improve PUBG?
