Anything I can do to reduce some of the color saturation to make things more "bland/muted"?

Re: XL2720z V2 + BB Strobe Utility = Greatest Gaming Monitor
I'm using the TFT ICC profile and their recommended settings:Chief Blur Buster wrote:Increase the gamma.SUOrange55 wrote:Thanks. Loving the monitor.

Standard mode
Gamma 3
Brightness locked at 100 with Blur Reduction enabled
Contrast 50
RGB 100/100/92
Everything else in the OSD settings is left at default.
Switching between the 5 gamma modes doesn't seem to make much of a difference. It's pretty tough to track targets on my screen in darker areas on maps, even with persistence at 100% (with things becoming too washed out at that point).
I wonder if there's a better a better color profile for gaming than TFT's, or if there's anything I can further tweak in nvidia control panel? I want the colors to be as bland and neutral as possible. I'm coming from using a XL2410T FPS default preset:
Brightness 100
Contrast 63
Gamma 1.8
The motion clarity/lack of any noticeable input delay on this thing is amazing so I would love to get the colors right for me. Thanks again for your help

Hi, i have recently bought the XL2720z. I am runing persistance on 2ms and crosswalk as far as i can to the left in the utility, which still isn't enough. I have applied the 1350 tweak in cru and i am still not satisfied. I still have crosswalk in the ufo test.
I am wondering what values you have on these settings:
AMA
Instant Mode
Sharpness

Utility is for BenQ Blur Reduction Mode. Are AMA and Instant Mode options changeable if BenQ Blur Reduction Mode is ON?kaemon wrote:Hi, i have recently bought the XL2720z. Instant Mode must be OFF only if you want some additional input lag so better keep it always ON.

I actually have the same issue -- VT1350 @ 120hz and cross all the way to the left in the Utility; still get cross on UFO tests.

you dont get totally rid of cross talk or ghosting but it is only in at the upper and the lower edge of the screen with 1350 and all to the left. without 1350 the sweet spot for me was about 1/4 or 1/3 of the way from the left to the right.

It's important to note that LightBoost and ULMB also has crosstalk too, to varying extents, depending on the model of the monitor. In many areas, it is even worse.kaemon wrote:Hi, i have recently bought the XL2720z. I am runing persistance on 2ms and crosswalk as far as i can to the left in the utility, which still isn't enough. -- Try VT1500 (after the ToastyX Pixel Patcher)
-- Try lowering contrast. This reduces crosstalk
-- Try 100Hz instead of 120Hz
Also, remember that the strobe crosstalk isn't as noticeable in real-world gaming as it does in the TestUFO.

Re: XL2720z V2 + BB Strobe Utility = Greatest Gaming Monitor
EDIT: I compared vt1350 and 1500 and it doesn´t seem to make a difference. Right now there´s two weak transparent afterimages for each ufo. Top and bot of the screen has some crosswalk. I just wish that i could move the crosstalk slider more to the left in the utility.
Will i damage my monitor over time or reduce it´s lifetime by runing vt at 1500?
I am unable to add 144hz in CRU, what values do i need to use?
EDIT2: i am now running vt 1502 and i am noticing a huge difference in crosswalk at the top and bottom of my screen. Is it safe to run vt 1502 on lower refresh-rates?

Yes, you can do VT1502 on many of the lower refresh rates. It actually makes a big difference for those, too.kaemon wrote:EDIT2: i am now running vt 1502 and i am noticing a huge difference in crosswalk at the top and bottom of my screen. Is it safe to run vt 1502 on lower refresh-rates?

Re: XL2720z V2 + BB Strobe Utility = Greatest Gaming Monitor
Is there any benefit to me using this dual link dvi cable:
http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=1 ... 1&format=2
over the one that comes with the XL2720Z? enhanced colors? better refresh accuracy? better response times? or am I absolutely fine with stock cable, no difference at all?
