XL2546 - Settings for Standard VS Gaming Layout

Post by Sfang » 13 Dec 2018, 18:00

Okey so at this moment i have my standard as this:

Code: Select all

Gamer: 1
DyAc: Premium
Black eQualizer: 12
Color Vibrance: 10
Low Blue Light: 0
Instant Mode: ON

Brightness: 75
Contrast: 55
Sharpness: 7
Gamma: 2
Color Temperature: Bluish
AMA: High
Senseye Demo: OFF
Reset Color: NO

Display: Input: DisplayPort
Display Mode: Full
Now my Game for CSGO looks like this:

Code: Select all

Gamer 3
DyAc: Premium
Black eQualizer: 12
Color Vibrance: 16
Low Blue Light: 0
Instant Mode: ON
Picture mode: Gamer 3
Brightness: 100
Contrast: 60
Sharpness: 8
Gamma: 2
Color Temperature: User Define: 100, 100, 100
AMA: Premium
Senseye Demo: OFF
Reset Color: No

Display: Display port
Display Mode: Full.
I' feel that the monitor is a bit imposing on the eyes when im at standard mode, i wish i could have a clearer + more nicer tone(less constraint on the eyes) for the standard layout.
So which is settings are recommended for it?

Also for (basic gaming what would the settings be optimized for FPS and performance prioritzed, CSGO seems to be very fine with my gamer 3 settings, but at others games i would wish to have a more standard approach yet 240hz and good FPS & quality.

And last on the UFO test i get the error
SYNC FAILURE:
Unable to VSYNC. Try closing all apps and browser tabs.
I've tried closing apps & other tabs, yet i get the same problem. What is the problem?
Also small millistutters occur when doing the test..

Thanks in advance for any help.

For testufo, if you're on Windows 7, make sure Aero is enabled. Also, make sure GPU acceleration is enabled in your browser.

I'm on Windows 10 and Machine acceleration is activated.

Try a different browser. Firefox and Chrome.

I was on Chome... tested on Mozilla Firefox with this error:
STUTTER WARNING:
Browser stutter detected (2+). Close other apps and tabs.

It seems you have something installed on your PC that has a negative effect on performance and latency.

I'm not sure what to say, i have a entire new setup except for my PSU, 1 monitor and the GPU.
I have two active displayports... one to my 144hz monitor and one to my new 240hz monitor... could that be the cause?

I've tried to close down all active applications and re-do the test yet i get the error because of stutteriing (1), i also some times get the error to load vsync.

I made a benchmark test and this is the results:

UserBenchmarks: Game 99%, Desk 134%, Work 127%
CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K - 96.3%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070 - 92.5%
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo NVMe PCIe M.2 500GB - 284.4%
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB - 112.5%
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB - 112.1%
HDD: Seagate Desktop SSHD 1TB - 96.4%
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 C16 2x8GB - 71.5%
MBD: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING

Both of the CPU and RAM are brand new, i don't get why they would underperform...
About the RAM- i inserted them in the second and fourth slot, as far as i understand the manual said that would be good.. or was i wrong?

iirc you need one active (connected) monitor for test. try it with different browsers.

I did, now most of the time it says "*ready* with green overall, but then every now and then it says it stutters.

So if you can't help me with that do you know a good setup/settings for a good standard layout?

Occasional browser stutters are OK -- while moving the mouse, the browsers are much more stutter-sensitive than games, so it's a limitation of the browsers. For example, furious mouse movement all over the webpage and the browser toolbars will cause the TestUFO to stutter unavoidably, due to browser programming. Background tabs can cause TestUFO to frameskip too.

The important thing is you got the green READY and perfectly smooth motion (hopefully frameskip free). Generally, it should stay green-READY most of the time when running as a single window (no other browser tabs), and configured to single monitor.
