Firmware update on XL2430T via windows

Post by Amoxap1ne » 05 Mar 2019, 15:38

Hi I'm new in this forum, I was looking for a way to update my BenQ XL2430T v2 to latest version since I got this monitor second hand in september last year, I've readed a bit here how to, but it looks hella alot confusion to me :( . Can someone help me to figure out how to and if there's a way to do it via windows 10 (without the MSTAR ISP tool)? Thanks in advice!

It's not possible.

You must
1. Upgrade with MSTAR ISP
2. Upgrade with Linux

You have no choice if you want to upgrade the firmware...

I recommend to people to live with their current firmware as long as it is good enough. The good news is that the XL2430T V2 is already fully compatible with Blur Busters Strobe Utility so there's currently no further strobe improvements you can obtain with a firmware upgrade.

The biggest exception was Version 1 firmwares in the very early XL2720Zs (and select few others), which gained a major strobe upgrade in the V2 firmware.

XL2430T V2 had some pretty glaring bugs IIRC. I forgot..something about very bad color crush with digital vibrance or black equalizer? I can't remember anymore.

Just like XL2540 had some pretty epic ones on release too (like the Intensity setting doing nothing except changing brightness and not strobe persistence).
