need help with setup benq xl2540

Post by bigboy » 25 May 2019, 09:16

Hello,

I did follow some FAQ steps but still no idea whats going on coz 2much info and not sure if everything is correct .

I have BENQ XL2540 , GTX 1060 6gb , i7-8700 , 32gb ram
from the first day i have 239hz on display settings no idea why screenshot https://snag.gy/2awXDZ.jpg

now look at this https://snag.gy/J5gD7o.jpg what numbers should i set ? and why its 239.76hz

here is fresh one https://snag.gy/4bwy2k.jpg . When i move persistance and crosstalk area its working coz i turned on Blur Reduction.

If you ask me what is my goal i'll say MAX HZ and LOWEST input lag . playing CSGO everything is on LOW (video settings).
mouse info 400dpi, 1000hz , mouse ec2-b

and video settings nvidia https://snag.gy/49xGWo.jpg , https://snag.gy/Lzu8FA.jpg

i did some tests screenshot from one of them https://snag.gy/8b1HkU.jpg time to time it showing 235,238,240

If i go to the monitor menu > information > i have current res 1920 x 1080 240

Also i feel like after installing your software and play with it i have maybe a bit less FPS not sure..

All of these are unrelated.

(1) Browsers often have difficulty keeping up with full frame rate -- so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

(2) 239Hz vs 240Hz has nothing to do with your fluctuating frame rate. Unrelated. It's normal for a factory installed 240Hz refresh rate to be slightly off by a bit. I'm assuming that is how the monitor automatically showed its 240Hz refresh rate -- some displays round it off (e.g. 239.76Hz -> 239Hz). I assume you didn't do any custom resolution tweaking.

(3) As for actual games, make sure you close all your web browser windows before you launch your game. You might have left some tweaking/TestUFO windows open. The clarity of motion blur reduction can also sometimes make the game appear to be running at lower frame rate, either because (1) It's easier to see the motion and/or (2) the amplified microstuttering effect of blur reduction (See HOWTO: Using ULMB Beautifully or Competitively to understand). The Right Tool For The Right Job.

Also, Strobe Utility has less effect on XL2540/XL2546/XL2740 than it does on the 144Hz 1080p such as XL2411P or XL2720Z. Tweaking will have more limited effect to improvement of motion blur reduction.
