Today I tried again with firmware 007 and after there was an error message for the first time I started the flash again straight away and lo and behold, it worked and I'm now on FW 007. You don't have to understand why it is 10x not working and then suddenly it works. I really didn't do anything different at the time ...
well.. after trying this on V7, i was able to unbrick my XL2720Z.. !! :D Thank you for posting this! I was on the verge of buying a 2nd one to replace this one.. I can confirm from being on V2 and now on V7 that the AMA Low tweak does work! It's glorious

Glad it worked. I can't help with Linux anymore because I haven't used that method in years. I just use my Mstar ISP device.

Hello everyone. I have a Benq Xl2720z on firmware v3 and would like to upgrade it to v8. I have a big problem tho; i am a complete noob with linux and i have not understood the guide that was published to do the firmware update. Could someone help me by writing the simplified steps i need to take in order to firmware update my monitor? Thanks alot in advance for your answers!

For newer monitor linux is outdated best what works is aliexpress MSTAR device in linux you can brick and unbrick but not all monitors work in there. What did work was 2411z to me but not 2536 it detected but gived lot errors so i considered dangerous to continue.

MSTAR ISP device on ali not expencive too but that works no issues.

How do I know if there is a new firmware version for my monitor and where can I download it? I have XL2430 with a firmware v010-20161201
