We no longer recommend the specific aliexpress unit as that one is extremely difficult to work properly (in fact, the aliexpress unit is apparently harder than the new hardware-free Linux method). The one pictured from cart100 is easier. To help you along:
1. Go into Service Menu, then enable "DVI HPD", save the setting.
2. Put monitor in standby mode. (I'd unplug the monitor for a few second, plug it in)
3. Don't plug your computer into the monitor, keep it in standby. Use a different screen/monitor for the computer for now. Make sure the monitor you are upgrading is completely black and off with only the power button illuminated (standby mode).
4. Connect aliexpress unit via DVI cable to the monitor.
5. Follow the upgrade instructions.
