Hello,
I ordered an XL2411Z from Amazon Germany. The package is here but I don't want to open it, in case it's the old one. I know I could open it and test, but it would make things more complicated. I checked Google, but to avail.
The S/N is ETR1E01262SL0
Have I been lucky?
Cheers

Check BENQ press release
The Download PDF link will show which serial numbers have Version 1.
Since you have "ETDR" prefix, I think you have V2, but I am not 100% sure, since there's no information on the ETDR.
Is this a monitor "Shipped and fulfilled by Amazon.de", and not a reseller? If so, then you're supposed to be already V2 as the ones fulfilled by Amazon are all universally V2 now, to the best of my knowledge.

Re: How to identify XL2411Z v2 from S/N
Hello and thanks for the replies!
I opened the package, unfortunately it was the V1.
Chief, first of all thanks for sharing your knowledge about these things. I've just recently found this page and read a lot of your news, tests and forum replies. They are always elaborate, simple enough for laymans and most importantly based on facts and actual tests instead of opinions. I really appreciate that.
Up until now I've always played 60Hz, but I am quite the competetive gamer. That's why I wanted to make the change to 120Hz. The XL2411Z is unfortunately not well suited for my desk, it has a huge gap between actual panel and the wall. My desk is not that deep, and it makes the monitor basically stand in the middle of it. Currently I have a LG E2290 which is really great in that aspect, the panel is close to the wall. (Quick picture).
It really seems the only choice currently is 2411Z or 2420Z. The 2420Z looks better (not asymmetrical) and is available in the EU BenQ store with the V2 firmware (the 2411Z isn't currently). Does anyone know if the 2420Z can be placed closer to a wall than the 2411Z? I can only find this screenshot of the 2420Z, but not a similar one of the 2411Z.

Re: How to identify XL2411Z v2 from S/N
Thank you! I gave it a shot and ordered from the BenQ shop with firmware v2.
The dimensions from the BenQ homepage suggest that the XL2420Z is 'flatter'.
XL2411Z:
431 x 570 x 222
XL2420Z:
516 x 571 x 149
