PC Gaming Wiki is a good source for game-specific information:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Amnes ... frame_rate

FYI, it appears this game's systems are locked to a 60 FPS rate. So while you can unlock the framerate, things may not work properly above 60 FPS.

Seeing as you only want to use RTSS for stability, however, you can disable the in-game limiter as described in the link above and then set a 60 FPS limit with RTSS instead.

I've been meaning to ask, is there a reason you keep posting one question across multiple posts in a very short period of time, instead of including all the text in a single post? My guess is because you're probably used to posting on platforms like Discord, but not sure.

Regardless, to your questions...

I've answered that already. If the in-game limiter can't be disabled and you want to override it, you need to set the external limit (be it RTSS or NVCP MFR) at least a few frames below the in-game limit to override it.

I'm not quite clear on what you're getting at. Are you saying when you disable the in-game and RTSS limiter there's still an in-game limit in effect?

Because if you follow the PC Gaming Wiki steps to disable the in-game limiter, and you have an RTSS 60 FPS limit, then RTSS will limit the main menu to 60 FPS unless you disable it as well.

yeah thats what i mean i could do that for amnesia but that would mean going below 60 which isnt ideal because it dont go any higher in the game menu has 15,30 and 60 only

If you mean the in-game "Framerate" option is still showing as "60" even after you disable it using the config file method, it's because the menu option won't usually change to reflect the config tweak you made, since "Off" or "False" or "Unlimited" isn't an official parameter, so they wouldn't have coded that entry in for the original in-game menu, hence it just shows what you last changed it to in-game before the config file tweak.

To make sure the config tweak is working, ensure you're editing the "<user-id>_user_settings.cfg" under "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Amnesia Rebirth\Main," then temporarily disable the RTSS limit to verify the FPS is above 60 FPS in the game's main menu. If it is, reapply the RTSS limit, and don't adjust the in-game "Framerate" option, or it will reset your config tweak.

No worries, it's simply an unorthodox way to post on an "old fashion" forum like this one, so was just wondering.

ok thanks for that can you take a look at the following to make sure im on the right page please

1. for games that only has a few options 15,30.60,120,200 but no unlimited and want to use rtss for stability i could set in game to highest then set a rtss profile for the game in question right ?

2. for games that have a built in lock to for instance 60 and wont go higher ill go into rtss and replace it with my 60 instead of the games 60 to make it more stable

3.for games that are like amnesia (15,30,60, no unlimited option) and want to cap i can either just use in game and call it a day or i got to go into the config files of said game and make it unlimited (so long as i dont change the framerate setting again in game) then create a rtss profile for the game ?,
