Yes, the contrast ratio range reduction can reduce the ghosting part. Ignoring the focus differences, and focussing on the coronas/trailing artifact, that is an expected behavior. That depends on how the monitor processes contrast (digitally decreasing white level, increasing black level, to provide overdrive headroom below black, and overdrive headroom above white. Doing this produces fewer coronas and reduced strobe crosstalk).
It is a sort of a pick-your-poison: Do you prefer contrasty colors, or do you prefer eliminating coronas? (But at least that's a user choice)
For those who want to experiment, spend their time and sacrifice contrast.
I propose a method that I used before buying a high-speed camera.
Those who do not want to lose contrast, are looking for perfect settings, asks the question: "which is better? What is worse? What do you recommend?" - Just close this topic, do not waste your time.
Another 240Hz xn253qx monitor fell into my hands. Stock settings r50 g50 b50, contrast 50, overdrive normal. the range of colors is 0-100, the range of contrast is 0-100.
On the stock settings in the test
https://www.testufo.com/ghosting#backgr ... &pursuit=1 I see ghosts that do not suit me.
For the method that I suggest, we need a test
https://www.testufo.com/chase#backgroun ... &height=-1 .
I adjust each color separately. In the monitor settings, I set r0 g0 b50. I change the viewing angle as shown in the video until the image is shaded.

Slowly lowering b50 and continuously watching how the ghost changes. At a value of b43, the ghost is very similar to a firework, it seems that the pixels sparkle, at a value of b42, the firework disappears.
I will call it a ghost firework.
The same goes for red and green. I get r35 g38 b42.
In my version of the monitor (r35 g38 b42) contrast 50). For values (r50 g50 b50) not higher than contrast 35. If the method is clear, you can easily translate the rgb values that are pleasing to your eye while maintaining the highest possible contrast.
You decide when to stop!
Recording in one take, but fast).
Stock monitor settings, only the contrast of 50-25 changes.
Speed is 3840.

I often do not clearly state my thoughts. google translate is far from perfect. And in addition to the translator, I myself am mistaken. Do not take me seriously.
