i think a 1440p 24.5 inch monitor with really good backlight strobing, might be the end game monitor for me
, it doesnt even have to be 500hz+

Re: LCD 600hz monitors
Hey Guys,
I just got the AOC AGON PRO AG 246FK6 610HZ, mainly for CS2 with a 9800X3D and a 9070XT.
Hitting 500 avg fps(722 in CS2 Dust 2 workshop benchmark, I saw the AMD ad about hitting 1000FPS+ on this setup but I don't have vbs disabled nor sam) and I'm still trying to set the monitor best.
So far freesync gave me good latency with low tearing, while the tearing may have been too distracting without freesync and made me lose targets.
The motion clarity is honestly on par with the Zowie 2566+ I had to return and also I find it more balanced color wise and less eye straining through mbr.
Freesync + MBR Sync seems great so far, but I would take any advices from you all, ( also it's my first post here, so Hi
)
Thinking of lowering the refresh rate without freesync to something more steady would benefit me maybe ? ( 144 240 360 540 600 are available, but oc give 610).
If you have question I can answer and would help us compare the tech with dyac2 etc please feel free to contact me.
Thanks !

How is the brightness with mrb? And also compared to 2566x+? Did you find the motion clarity similar to zowie?Occ4 wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025, 11:24Hey Guys,

Re: LCD 600hz monitors
Brightness with MRB+ Sync is very good and more than enough. I have nothing to complain on this side and could share my current settings with Dark boost lvl 3 which is quite cool.Lucasre5 wrote: ↑22 Oct 2025, 16:46How is the brightness with mrb? The Zowie was very clean and dyac 2 made a difference but was straining on my eyes,
To answer shortly YES, I feel it is on par if not better, I don't have eyes strain at all and target tracking with freesync is great.I feel like external zone of the monitor arent covered with MRB led as much.
Playing with mrb off did surprised me after a monitor reset and I had to turn it back on.
The only downside is overall stability, sometime, the mrb/brightness seems to flicker a bit , depending on the game I play with freesync vsync and mrb sync enabled.( on wreckfest notably ) Also and more disturbingly, I have maybe once a day on my gaming config, the screen will turn black , then back on for a few, seconds, I'm still trying to figure out what this is. I believe it's electrical as I also had issue changing source on the fly where I will need to unplug replug. I've reached out to reseller for support on this but no answer. Another small thing, while playing with borderless/fullscreen etc, I noticed the top left angle will suddenly be smoothed corner, pressing on it would turn it back on, changing res and fullscreen settings resolved it and it did'nt happen again. I'm using the psu cable from my old 244 monitor, while I noticed they were similar, I will change it to the one received with the agon now, to further try to reduce this stability issue which don't bother me for now.
Overall I'm still pretty happy with it as freesync hitting above 400-600 is feeling noticably smoother.
Another thing is I'm still looking for better contrast settings I feel like even the Zowie did'nt equate my old Asus VG 144hz contrast settings.
OOB settings were quite bland and adding shadow control and dark boost helped but I feel like I still miss something.
Please feel free to ask more detailed question.
