sorry for double post

pg27aqn, 1440 pixel per sec, 120hz, hand tracked with iphone:

100 pulse width, iphone auto exposure:

50% pulse width, iphone auto exposure:

these were harder to grab coz AF/AE lock
100% pulse width, iphone low exposure, could only get 1 usable one here:

50% pulse width, iphone low exposure:

since ur testing ULMB2, do you notice any change in colors (I'm NOT referring to brightness) when u turn on ULMB2? I've seen a few other owners say the colors are degraded a bit.

I know that you can shift the gamma when you enable BFI so some colors may get crushed or blown out. I had experience with this for the XL2411P

thanks for this test. tbh I can't see any difference except brightness between changing the pulse width on mine. The strobe time is definitely way shorter coz iphone picks up the strobing at 50% but doesn't see it at all at 100%, yet I still do not notice any ghosting. I'm not that sensitive to ghosting though so maybe it's just me
1. You have to maximize the window
2. You have to display that TestUFO at 1:1 pixel mapping (100% Windows DPI, 100% Chrome) to make the text unscaled
3. You have to intentionally eye-track to try to read a single street name label.

That's where 10%-25% vs 100% becomes the most visible.

pg27aqn, 1440 pixel per sec, 120hz, hand tracked with iphone:
These useful contexts (I can see your KSF phosphor -- www.blurbusters.com/red-phosphor)

But aren't sufficiently accurate-enough pursuits for pulsewidth comparisions.

What you did won't show 10% vs 100%

To do so, you need to do additional steps:

1. You need to use fixed exposure, not auto exposure (lengthen your camera exposure to four refresh cycles)
2. Download DSLRCamera app and configure the per-frame exposure to as close as possible to 1/90sec for a 360Hz display.
3. Ideally, use a pixels per second motion speed about twice the "Hz equivalence". Although 2880 pixels/sec will be very hard to hand-pursuit, you may want to try 1920 pixels/sec which is still mangeable.
4. Use the "UFO Deluxe" for finer texts

Instead of the photo method, you use the video method as follows:
INSTRUCTIONS: Proper iPhone Handwave Pursuit Camera
And then you scrub through the video for the screengrab of the clearest-ladder (sync track with four tickmarks).

here's some better photos. hand trakced so sorry if there's some unintentional blur, hopefully it's still helpful. these are 1440pps. I will see if i can get some at 2880

Still need more precision to do successful pulsewidth comparisons.

Hand tracking error needs to be have less than 0.1% error margin (1ms is 1/1000th of a second, and ULMB2 flashes briefer than 1ms) and the only way to tell is via a proper exposure of Sync Track.

Download the DLSRCamera app to your iPhone first.

Set manual exposure to 4 refresh cycles (1/90sec for 360Hz)

Use video, not photo.

Try this one, and maximize the window and vertically center the UFOs you're pursuiting:

Try again until the horizontal ladder is correctly in your iPhone.

The reason I ask people to use video (not photo) for smartphone handwave pursuits is to improve the odds of accurate pursuits.

Video is a brute-force burstshoot, that makes it easy to find good photos (freezeframes) in a mess of bad attempts. Hand-tracking 0.1% error margin tends to happen only 1 out of 1000 freezeframes (approx), and that's why video is recommended for handwave pursuit camera, since the brute forced number of photos (video as a series of photos) allows you to occasionally successfully hit the necessary low error margins by chance in a handwave.

Also, easier if you hold phone with both hands, it stabilizes the phone more too. With phone lens about ~50cm away (under 2 feet) from screen to prevent LCD viewing angle artifacts. And zoom in to enlarge the UFO/synctrack sufficiently. Then spin your computer chair with stiff sholders/arms holding the phone.

This gets you to the necessary tracking accuracy on more video freezeframes of the necessary tracking error margin, to be useful for pulsewidth comparisions.

Remember we are comparing ~0.5ms VERSUS ~1.0ms pulse widths

THESE TIPS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR HANDWAVE PURSUIT PHOTOGRAPHY ON PULSE WIDTHS

Use Fast Motion Speeds Such As 1920 Pixels/Sec For Pulse Width Tests

Can anyone confirm if ULMB 2 is available at lower refresh rates besides 360hz?
There's something here:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11936&start=10#p94246

At least 120hz works. Wonder what the quality is.
Interesting. It seems Nvidia went two steps forward and one step back. I don't see any reason why they can't enable 60hz strobing. Amazing progress nonetheless.

They're fine for crosstalk comparisions! But looking for blur differences from pulsewidths. That's much harder to capture, unless the pursuit instructions are followed.
