Cool, here's to hoping they eventually release a 24" OLED panel.
Re: LG 27” 1440P 480Hz OLED CES 2024
my next monitor will have these specs, 1440p is really comfortable but requires a higher configuration, later Asus may offer a version with a 25" 1300p mode

It’s glossy and up to 275 nits with 100% APL! At 50 seconds here.

If it has dp2.1 I'm in.
Unfortunately at the moment, the only one "rumored" to have it is the new HP oled

Here's the asus model using the LG panel. According to this guy it's glossy, has BFI (only up to 120 hz, but maybe even 240 or higher, not confirmed) and comes out H2 2024.

By the way, what are the benefits of using DP 2.1?tftcentral wrote:It’s possible Asus are still investigating whether DP 2.1 could be added to the 27″ 480Hz and 32″ 4K 240Hz models, although as we reported in our recent article, this is difficult and challenging at this time. More details to be confirmed later on.

You avoid use of Display Stream Compression that becomes active once you exceed DisplayPort 1.4's bandwidth limitation of 32gb.forcedreg wrote: ↑09 Jan 2024, 17:55from the tft articleBy the way, what are the benefits of using DP 2.1?tftcentral wrote:It’s possible Asus are still investigating whether DP 2.1 could be added to the 27″ 480Hz and 32″ 4K 240Hz models, although as we reported in our recent article, this is difficult and challenging at this time. People say that they don't notice a difference but most monitors out right now that operate using DSC don't exceed the limitation by too much. There was a youtuber who did an in-depth review of the LG 27GR95QE, in it he tested DP1.4 and then HDMI 2.1 (48gb) and said he felt the difference. My suspicion is that the more a display exceeds the bandwidth limitation and relies on DSC, the worse things will feel.

I just saw a video of someone walking by and looking at the Asus 480hz OLED.... and it was running blurbuster's UFO test.
SOMEONE TAKE A PURSUIT VIDEO OF IT, I want to see how well 480hz OLED performs with the UFO test.

Yeah, I just saw it and came here.
Looks pretty dang good. The map one where you can read the small little text was impressive. It was a bit more difficult to discern the eyes on the UFO test though.
