I actually only run into this rarely lately. There are only a few games that I absolutely could not fix such as Divinity 2 and Shadow Warrior. I suspect it's a very different situation with SLI.
Fallout comes to mind. Dying Light has some stutters.

Are you going to PDX Lan this month?

Dying Light actually runs very smoothly here since the first patch, though the framerate is quite variable. It really wasn't too bad at release either. It does seem slightly less smooth in co-op than single player. I haven't tested Fallout 3 or New Vegas but I can certainly believe it given the engine. I did just think of another one though: Far Cry 3. Frequent stutters, much worse in co-op.

I can't say I've ever been to PDX Lan. I may consider it in the future but I have some health concerns and LAN parties tend to be quite exhausting in my experience.

Shadow Warrior and Hard Reset (previous game of the same creators) only work correctly at 60Hz and 120Hz. 60fps and 120fps are the only stutter-free fps for these games. Besides, Shadow Warrior is capped at 120fps even if you use a higer refresh rate. That makes me think that G-Sync at 144Hz and the game at constant 120fps should be perfectly smooth with no input lag (because the monitor will be running at 120Hz when the game runs at 120fps).
Another thing to consider is one option in the video options: Physics. It has only two values, default and ultra. At default, the game runs internally at 60fps even if FRAPS or similar programs are telling you it's running at 120fps. At ultra, 120fps work as they should. Default physics aren't good in any way. If the game drops to 90fps, it will do it at default and at ultra just the same.

About Divinity 2, I didn't try it yet with my current monitor. Maybe there's a correct refresh rate that makes the game smooth, just like 62.5Hz in Doom 3. Or maybe not  .

You'd need a supercomputer to maintain 120 fps in Shadow Warrior, unfortunately. I put off playing it until I got a GTX 970 because my GTX 760 was dropping to too low of a framerate for me to be comfortable with, and quite regularly at that. I don't recall having the same issues with Hard Reset but it's possible I was running at a constant 60 fps at the time.

I tried all sorts of framerate limits in Divinity 2 and if anything, they all made the stuttering worse. And it's EXTREMELY bad to the point of being unplayable to start with.

Nice. I wonder how long it will be before a review/preview is up.

Acer announces 144hz IPS 1440p G-SYNC! [XB270HU, XG270HU]

Photo from manual: https://mobile.twitter.com/TFTCentral/s ... 640/photos

GTG response time has magically gone from 1ms to 4ms (SHOCKING, right?) and I bet even that is only when the 'extreme' overdrive is enabled

Oh yeah, in case there were still any doubting Thomases, it also says ULMB at the bottom

Edit: perhaps most interesting of all, the panel is listed as IPS, so not AHVA after all

I don't think any of us took the 1ms figure seriously. I suspect Tom's etc. were mixing up specs from that XG model

Can't wait to see how the ULMB performs with the IPS pixel transition times. My current 1ms TN panels (XL2420T & VG248QE) show a lot of strobe crosstalk with Lightboost enabled as of now. If it's worse because of the 4ms times with IPS, I don't think I will be buying one of these.
