I am also from the part of the world which isnt part of America. And i remember seeing glass filters on CRT monitors.
Just because it happened, doesnt mean it was a good thing, especially for the long term.

I believe NVIDIA is currently reluctant to do strobing at 60Hz, due to eye discomfort considerations. If it's done, it would probably end up being an undocumented or advanced user setting (e.g. like a Service Menu setting, or a Blur Busters Strobe Utility setting).

Currently, the only 60Hz strobing available is the BENQ Z-Series and G-Series monitors, which are both compatible with Blur Busters Strobe Utility.

Are there screens with actual 0 lag? I really dont know.
I guess CRTs might... but that doesnt seem like too helpful of a bit of information. Apart from CRT?

BenQ should rebrand this screen with 60 to 144Hz single strobe, I'd most likely buy it right away. I don't see myself ever buying another screen that doesn't do that.

It was briefly talked about in another thread, but I figured I'd ask here... how much do you all expect this monitor to cost? My original budget for a 27" was going to be $700-800... but I will DEFINITELY wait for this beauty instead. It was stated in another thread to expect this monitor to cost $1,200-1,500... is that about right, or should I be saving more than that (for the G-Sync version).

Also, will my GTX 970 be enough of a card to run this monitor, or do I need to upgrade that as well? I realize that running at 144Hz might not be possible on DP 1.2, but will the 970 have enough power to make this monitor "look good"?

All i can say with some certainty is that the freesync version will cost 200$ less than the gsync one.

Unless nvidia manages to use the gsync module to combine variable refresh and lightboost, i dont really see it surviving past 2015.
