Mark, visit the LG booth and see if the new 5,120 x 2,160 34WK95U can overclock at all.
Also let us know what the new LG 34GK950G G-Sync refresh rate is.

Since I'm a video guy, I'd like you to check out cameras. In particular Panasonic is rumored to be releasing a new MFT camera, the GH5s, which is stated by many to be able to record 1080p 240fps, and a few who claim to have seen the leaked specs say it can do 4K 60fps 422 10-bit, and 4K 120fps 420 8-bit.

I have authenticated you as coming from a @viewsonic.com email address, so I've assigned you Manufacturer Rank with a logo. (hope that's OK)
I'll follow up your email now that the Holidays are over.

Re: Visiting CES 2018
Thank you! We are looking to expand into HFR video content (and realtime 240fps, not slo-mo 240fps).Xx123456xX wrote:Since I'm a video guy, I'd like you to check out cameras. In adition, I am looking for an inexpensive high speed camera capable of slo-mo 480p @ 1000fps and 720p @ 480fps -- I hope that more manufacturers enable high-speed-video features in newer cameras, as they are extremely useful for input lag testing.

In addition to cameras, I'd also suggest looking at any external monitors and viewfinders. To my knowledge, all currently on the market can only go up to 60Hz, it would be nice if any new ones could go higher.Chief Blur Buster wrote:Thank you! Regarding LG:
http://www.lgnewsroom.com/2018/01/lg-la ... processor/
https://www.cnet.com/news/lg-oled-tvs-d ... s-in-2018/
Interesting bits:
"α (Alpha) 9 is designed to support high frame rate (HFR) for producing smoother and clearer motion images at 120 frames per second for better rendering of fast-action content such as sports and action movies. As a result of the new image processor, 2018 LG OLED TVs can display any content at maximum quality for a truly spectacular viewing experience."
"High Frame Rate (HFR) capability: All of the new LG OLED sets will be able to play back high frame rate (up to 120 frames per second) video, which is smoother, particularly during motion, than standard 60fps video. Again that sounds pretty cool, but there are caveats. No HFR content is available today, although LG says some will be available via streaming later this year. Movies that use higher frame rates, for example The Hobbit by Peter Jackson and Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk are controversial, and many viewers don't like the effect. With action video and gaming content, however, it might be more widely accepted. If you really must have the absolute cutting-edge display, then HFR might be worth waiting for, but most users can skip it with no remorse."
"Note that because of its lesser processor, the B8 can't play back content that's both HFR and HDR (high dynamic range). It can handle any other combination of frame rate, resolution and HDR, however, including 4K HFR without HDR, and 2K (1080p) HFR with HDR. The C8 and other A9 sets can play back 4K+HFR+HDR."
"And since they lack HDMI 2.1, none of LG's 2018 OLED sets can handle HFR from external devices like 4K Blu-ray players, just via streaming or over-the-air broadcasts."
Would be cool to know more details.

Ya looks like no 120 Hz 4K PC input OLED until spring 2019.
