Thanks for sharing your thoughts! How do you think these 2 monitor's overdrive compare with Lenovo y27gq-25? There is a discount on it in my local shop - $740.
Safe to say based on RTings and HWU testing that these QHD 240Hz monitors are significantly slower than their updated FHD counterparts.

For example, TFTCentral supplied an average response time of 2.6ms for the Acer XF252Q at the optimal overdrive setting.

I managed to snag one of the clearance Omen X 27s on the HP Canada store before they went out-of-stock. Only thing I'm concerned about is the PWM backlight. Although it flickers at ~7000Hz, if I did my math right, so shouldn't be a problem. Curious to know if the AOC flickers. The Lenovo probably not because of the G-Sync module.

EDIT:

Decided to support the TFT Patreon for the AG273QZ review. Just some of my thoughts on the important stuff. AOC opted for an overdrive function that favors overshoot performance. There's zero ghosting on optimal overdrive but average GTG is 4.7ms @ 240Hz. Also, there's zero ghosting as the refresh rate drops while maintaining the optimal overdrive, indicating there's variable overdrive on the AG273QZ. In my opinion the Omen X 27 strikes a better balance with its optimal overdrive setting, favoring response times and introducing some minor but generally unnoticeable ghosting. There's no variable overdrive on the Omen X 27, but increased ghosting is still fairly low even at low refresh rates.

Minimum brightness is 130 nits, which may be too high for some people. TFT noted no PWM but there were flickering/shimmering artifacts the lower the brightness setting. Also, some settings in the same brightness range were better than others. For example, 13 was the the most optimal low setting with 1-12 and 14 showing more artifacts. 13 looks like it would be ~170 nits according to the chart.

I'm not sure how to compare input lag results from TFT, Rtings and Techspot. Some data must be in error on at least one site because relative placement by the same reviewed monitors doesn't square with the data. Going by relative placement the Omen X 27 has lower input lag than the AOC.
I've picked up Lenovo y27gq-25 for $740 and it's amazing. Not as fast as BenQ XL2456 with DyAc on, but picture quality is so much better, and I'm actually playing competitively Lenovo y27gq-25 too, probably because it's easier to spot enemies on this monitor. with I do miss virtual crosshairs though, they provided a great advantage for me. I can't find info about virtual crosshair on HP Omen X 27, could please take a picture of them and explain how they work? For example, LG 27GL850 has huge horrible crosshair that I would never use, while Aorus KD25F has the best customizable crosshair that you can draw yourself.

Well the AG273QZ Tftcentral review is out. I'm however not a patreon so I'll have to wait a while but considering it isn't even on sale from a decent retailer here in Sweden it doesn't matter.

I'm surprised there are so few 1440p 240 Hz monitors coming out however.
Their review is out for non Pateron readers. 5.2 ms G2G average response time vs 3.1 ms G2G average response time of Dell S2716DG. What the hell?! Slower than 144 Hz Dell's monitor.

There are five crosshair styles to choose from (including simple dot) and you can have any combination of the crosshairs enabled at the same time. So all five enabled produce an obnoxiously complex crosshair. Color and location can also be adjusted.

I use Playclaw for my on-screen crosshair. Any image can be used and per-game .exe profiles can be set.

Completely opposite overdrive algorithms. The Dell favors response times at the expense of noticeable overshoot/undershoot, the AOC favors zero overshoot/undershoot at the expense of slower response times.

I prefer the monitors somewhere in-between (Omen 27, Omen X 27, Asus PG278QR from the models I tried).

Can you comment on the VESA mount for the X 27? Information is conflicting but it seems HP includes some type of adapter for it as opposed to screw holes on the back of the monitor. I'm wondering if it seems reliable and if it forces your monitor further forward than a standard arrangement would(added depth.)

I pray BenQ releases a 0.5ms 1080p 27". The XL2740 seems so wonderful but with the prospect of this tech looming I want to wait.
It’s not a 1440p @ 240Hz but to affirm my comment from a while back, BenQ does now have a “DayAc” 27”, 1080p, 240hz...and I am honestly a little disappointed. I know they can’t just magically create products but I feel like BenQ has been stagnant for the last couple years. Other monitor companies are pushing 300Hz, 360Hz, 1440p @ 240Hz...and we’re just getting 2540 refreshes. DayAc is nice, and the 2740 is the best monitor I’ve ever owned; I’m using it right now. I’m not going to sell it to get a ~0.5ms advantage, though, that’s too small of a change for me.

I really love the quality of BenQ’s monitors, but, I really hope they push the bar soon. I’m considering switching to the Asus ROG 360Hz when it comes out but I’d like to stay with BenQ because I love their QoL features and quality.

I’ve emailed their support a few times about this to try and put some pressure on them but what influence do I have? Just customer feedback, I don’t think they owe me anything. I just really love their monitors and want to keep using them.
