I will try to explain for whom this monitor. This monitor is for those who do not want to buy 2 monitors for different purposes or a monitor + TV. For those who play to the overwatch, fortnight,No more than an hour a day. And he lacks 144 hertz.
Need one tool for everything at once. Yes, he is not perfect.
1440 do not do massively like 1080 or 2160. They will not be significantly cheaper after a couple of years.
I often do not clearly state my thoughts. google translate is far from perfect. And in addition to the translator, I myself am mistaken. Do not take me seriously.

2 monitors with g sync? Not in all countries most likely.

400 fps+ in CS:GO
400 fps+ in Starcraft II
300 fps+ in Overwatch with my settings and rig. If you modify the .ini file you can get 400 fps and in big fights, the FPS can drop as low as 220 fps. (and the key to Overwatch performance is ridiculously fast ram if anyone wants to know. 4000mhz+)

And yes, as others have mentioned, it's also great for productivity, has a lower 0.5ms response time. Plus, if we factor in another 10-15% speed improvement in the next generation video card, that will mean the LOWEST drop will be above 240fps with the average being over 300 fps.

This is why I want it, sorta.

I game primarily on on my PC, but I play different types of games. 65% of the time I play sweaty PVP shooter games like CSGO, Apex Legends, OW, etc. where I want this refresh (this kind of rules out ultrawides). The rest of the time I play laid back games like Slay the Spire, Teamfight Tactics, TAB, or games where the FPS is low like EFT or PubG, for these I want the resolution. In these games, besides looking better, far away targets can be a problem at 1080p.

I've had both 240hz and 1440p monitors in recent history, and I chose the high refresh monitors, but this gives me both. Additionally, more space on the desktop when doing anything not gaming.

Worth $999 and possibly upgrading my 1080 Ti next gen? I haven't decided yet. I do have two 240hz and a 1440p 144hz monitor I can sell to soften the blow.

The main thing that bothers me are the speaker, fancy stand, etc. I feel like another version will come out at a lower price point. Also, I kind of want to hear how loud the fan is before buying. Saw a poster on reddit say his was a bit loud.

I agree.

For some of us, it is worth the price.

It's a personal decision and I 100% respect people who decide NOT to buy and I 100% respect people who DO decide to buy this.

We just have to respect other forum members who decide either way.

I've seen this monitor in person at CES 2019.

The monitor DID look among one of the better TN panels I have ever seen. I've also seen IPS colors worse than this TN panel. There is quality overlap between IPS and TN from the hundreds of monitors I've glanced at. Just make sure to sit in the sweet spot to minimize TN viewing angle issues. While booth monitors might have been cherrypicked -- I hope the retail production monitors are similar -- and should be at these prices. Looking forward to seeing this monitor ship!

This monitor has been available in Europe and China for a few weeks, but not in North America.
Wonder why it's delayed here?

There is a Y27GQ-20 available in Switzerland for a lower price announced, but it says on almost every website that it's a 165Hz panel.

https://www.microspot.ch/fr/ordinateurs ... lsrc=aw.ds

Do you know if it's a different model ? Can't really find any info, sometimes the name is different for the swiss market but it's the same product. I'll find it surprising it's not usual that we have a product before the rest of the world and definitely not at a lower price :D

Edit: Yea it's a different model unfortunately, https://cdn.competec.ch/documents/9/2/9 ... GAC1CH.pdf

I'm not sure about Switzerland, but I know people in Germany, Netherlands, etc. have been able to get them.

That reminds me, they added to the description that it does not come with a speaker because the original people who received theirs on reddit were surprised it did not come with one. Guess that could be a reason for the delay in NA, waiting for some speaker nobody wants so they can charge full price.
