27" 2560x1440 Free-Sync HDR 10
38" 3840x1600 G-Sync HDR 400 OC to 175hz
Both 144hz, wide color gamut (DCI-P3 98 percent),
preorder US 1 July, Europe Q3 2019.
I hope they use their own panel. More rivalry is better for us, consumers.

UL-tested 1ms GtG!!!!
Yes, it appears the LG used a neutral third party (UL) to test the pixel response. Good, I like to see improved pixel-response honesty.
Even if it uses the VESA 10%->90% measurement metric for GtG, the use of 1ms GtG average for all pixel color combinations on an IPS panel, is a fantastic achievement. It's horrendously difficult to advertise a single number because different colors are different speeds on all LCDs ever invented in humankind, and you gotta average them for a single GtG number. Necessarily that means some colors are slower than others.
Kudos to LG if they pulled off a 1ms-average GtG IPS.
Hopefully LG also includes a motion blur reduction mode and focussed on both of the two pixel response benchmarks.
Both pixel response benchmarks are important for higher quality motion blur reduction modes. 1ms GtG + 1ms MPRT = can be very low strobe crosstalk at 100Hz-120Hz refresh rate

This looks awesome! I wish the 27" variant was going to be gsync instead of gsync compatible.
There really are some amazing displays coming in the not too distant future.
Ones I would like to own in no particular order:
24.5" IPS 1080p 240hz 1ms GSYNC
24.5" or 27" IPS 1080p 144hz 1ms 98% DCI-P3 GSYNC
24.5" TN 1080p 240hz 0.5ms 90% DCI-P3 GSYNC

Interesting if this is true or just marketing BS. TN's don't even really reach 1ms.

In these scientific papers
- Mathematical modeling of the LCD response time
- Analytical equation for the motion picture response time of display devices
These all standardize from the 10% thru 90%.
The VESA-standardized pixel benchmark measuring rules are imperfect and hides a lot of imperfections in a unified GtG -- given there can be thousands of pixel response numbers for the same panel for different color combinations, and it's based on a VESA standard (often because of oscilloscope limitations), to measure from the 10%-level to the 90%-level rather than from 0%-thru-100%
Even perfect 1ms GtG 10%-thru-90% doesn't mean the 0->10% and the 90%->100% is perfect, but the cutoff points were chosen because of signal-to-noise limitations in measuring equipment over the years, and the cutoff points have not been tightened even with improved 12-bit and 16-bit oscilloscopes and more sensitive photosensors.
So I just say "manufacturers are using imperfect pixel response benchmark standards" ... The 1ms GtG is definitely reached on TN already, for the VESA-standardized GtG10%->90% metric. Certainly not GtG 0%->100% though, all the manufacturers are using the industry standard cutoff standards that only measures the middle 80% of the GtG curve.
Nontheless, it's important that despite the imperfect GtG standard, the pixel response measurements are followed to a tee with a standard third party measurement following an existing standard, to produce standardized numbers that can be more reliably compared display to display.

My question is if you bought the 27 inch version would 1080p content be useless on it? As I believe it's supposed to be a 1440p monitor.

I don't know about 4K but I'm pretty sure it has BFI included as I have the TN 144 ultra gear version of this monitor. The overdrive is fantastic on it.
