Hey guys,

I didn't see a list for the new/upcoming "0.5ms" 240hz monitors, so I figured I should make one.
Don't hesitate to tell me if you have other monitors in mind or if you see anything wrong.

0.5ms GtG Monitors
Strobed Monitors With adjustable MPRT including 0.5ms MPRT
  • Gigabyte AORUS KD25F
    - 0.5 ms (MPRT) according to specs
    - released
    - reviewed here : https://nl.hardware.info/reviews/9309/8 ... n-inputlag
    - not really promising according to the review
  • AOC AGON AG271FZ2 (27-inch) and AG251FZ2 (24.5-inch) :
    - 0.5ms MPRT (Min) according to spec
    - released : here
    - no review available on input lag and response time AFAIK
What monitor are you waiting the most?

Thanks for starting this thread!

Keeping an eye on the new 0.5ms GtG monitors is really useful.
Obviously, GtG benchmarking is tricky (since different colors can be different speeds), as seen in Pixel Response FAQ.

I would use separate section heading for 0.5ms GtG, and a separate heading for 0.5ms MPRT.

0.5ms MPRT has existed since XL2720Z Version 2 firmware and the first GSYNC monitors with ULMB (with "ULMB Pulse Width") .... So 0.5ms MPRT has existed since 2013 (including most ULMB monitors ever released), thanks to pulse width adjustments. NVIDIA simply never advertised the "ULMB Pulse Width" feature as being capable of 0.5ms MPRT, when it actually is according to photodiode oscilloscope graphs. Consequently, 0.5ms GtG or non-strobed sub-4ms MPRT would be more revolutionary.

I think 0.5ms MPRT must be delisted since many monitors can achieve this with strobed techs. The more useful list will be a list of monitors with new 240hz 0.5ms G2G panels from AU Optronics imo.

Not necessarily delisting, but maybe a separate threads.

Many strobe technologies in monitors are fixed strobe length, so an "adjustable MPRT" strobe list is useful separately of a 0.5ms GtG list. Because it's hard to keep track of which monitors have adjustable MPRT (strobe length) just like those old LightBoost % settings. LightBoost 10% only went down to 1ms MPRT, while ULMB can go down to roughly ~0.25ms MPRT (give or take) at its mostly unusable dimmest pulse width settings.

But keep up the list, I'm interested in 0.5ms of BOTH kinds. Just as separate lists, preferably separate threads.

- 0.5ms GtG Monitors
- Strobed Monitors With adjustable MPRT including 0.5ms MPRT

Updated.
Thanks for the feedback.

Much better!
Just edited the available links. While the adjustable MPRT is easier to find, the 0.5ms GtG models are still hard to find, and tests will need to determine how clean the 0.5ms GtG is (how the curve looks beyond VESA 10%->90% calculation).

Other Historical Monitors With Adjustable-MPRT Strobing

-- All ULMB monitors (G-SYNC) have a ULMB Pulse Width which is adjustable MPRT that goes all the way down to 0.5ms (roughly around ULMB Pulse Width setting 30-50). NVIDIA doesn't advertise 0.5ms MPRT, but it definitely certainly performs that. Blur Busters was the one who convinced NVIDIA to include the Pulse Width menu item in 2013, well before it became trendy to advertise MPRT specs...

-- BenQ Zowie gaming monitors are also all adjustable-MPRT as well. (via Factory Menu, via DDC command, or via Strobe Utility)

There is also

iodata EX-LDGC251UTB (been on sale in japan for many months....no idea about it https://tinyurl.com/y5hq8ka3 )

acer XN253QX (has Gsync chip.....maybe a XF252QX for gsync?...new review https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/acer-xn253qx/ )

Acer KG251QIbmiipx (for sale in japan...no idea about it https://acerjapan.com/monitor/gaming/kg1/KG251QIbmiipx )

Not 100% sure on the panels they use but i think it is the new ones

So according to that review by PCmonitors, the new Acer XN253QX 0,3ms 240hz monitor is laggier than a ViewSonic Xg2402 or Xg240R, both 144hz models... so more of the same. Another non optimized 240hz model wich costs a lot of money.

Wait for TFTCentral Review, I have access to it and I think the new AUO panel is still interesting. (I'm not saying the monitor is fully optimized).
The problem is that I can't compare to ViewSonic using the same test methodology since TFTCentral didn't review the ViewSonic.
Furthermore, why would you compare 144hz to 240hz just on the input lag? Correct me if im wrong but 144Hz has a 6.9ms lag-jitter error and 240Hz has a 4.16ms lag-jitter error while aiming. I didn't even mention the reduction in motion blur.

I Don't know much pcmonitors. Are their results accurate?
From what I noted:
ViewSonic XG2402 rtings : 4.1ms, pc monitors 3.16ms
benq xl2730z: tftcentral : 4ms, pcmonitors : 3.3ms
aoc agon ag251fz : tft central : 5ms, pc monitors : 4.68
pg278q: tft central: 4ms, pcmonitors : 3.6ms
