I assume BenQ will be making something with the same panel (hopefully?)

Wonder if ULMB works at 360hz

Yep!

NVIDIA reached out to Blur Busters to make a custom TestUFO test for CES 2020. It's going to go live tomorrow, but it appears NVIDIA launched it a day early!

So, you'll still see the humorous message at top of the new TestUFO test:

ATTENTION - You have reached a top secret beta test UFO research facility. Use of alien abduction force is authorized. Restricted area. It is unlawful to enter this area without permission from the UFO captain. All unauthorized personnel must vacate these premises and prepare for teleportation to Alpha Centari or Beta Ceti under section 187-1337b of Sol 5733. All accesses are logged in all five dimensions.

This message is obviously temporary, but quite a few got a chuckle out of it. You've hereby been warned about alien abduction. :D

Hey!

Just logged on to say I saw it ;)

The new blurbuster demo looks good and congrats on it. You're getting featured / mentioned at the Asus booth which is cool. I'm not gaming at the moment but still look forward to those 360hz displays !

Very excited about this monitor! New Dota 2 motion test looks amazing too!
Now we need CPUs that can push 360 FPS in at least esports games. My specs can't even keep stable 240 FPS in Rainbow Six: Siege. Dota 2, CS:GO, Leauge of Legends, PUBG Lite, Quake Champions are the only esports games I can think of that will be able to do 360 FPS.
I wonder what connection will this display use since 240hz @ 1080p is the maximum bandwith for DisplayPort 1.4.

This is incredible. I’m currently using a BenQ XL2740, 27”, 1080p, 240hz. I’d love if BenQ would release a >240hz display but I’m genuinely considering getting this when it comes out. I paid $600 USD for my XL2740 though. I’ve been really surprised that their resell value seems to have dropped quite a bit already, it wasn’t even a year ago...I know there’s a risk to early adoption but I do hope I can recuperate at least $400-$450 if not more when I resell it. I was hoping that I’d be able to buy a high grade monitor, then resell it once another tier was announced and put that money towards the upgrade. I still plan to but I just may not be getting as much back as I’d hoped. I’m also concerned because BenQ just announced a DayAc 2740 and that will further decrease the base model’s value.

I honestly prefer 27” 1080p for the large screen size and the lower pixel density. I really might have to get this 24.5” 360hz though because the framerate is what really matters to me. Unfortunately BenQ charged WAY more for the Xl2740 compared to the 2540; I know it’s literally more materials but it seemed exorbitant. Hopefully ASUS can release a 27” variant of this display but I’m doubtful, I’ve already contacted them expressing this desire. It’s been a few years since I’ve used a 24.5” for gaming so I honestly don’t really remember how it is. Would anyone who’s used both and/or prefers 24.5” over 27” please reply to this and say why? You can also message me directly I think on here or Twitter @saw141. I think the higher framerate may sell me on this but I do really like 27”...it just fills my vision better, but maybe the crispness of 24.5” is better?

Either way, this is incredible news, and I’m curious what BenQ will do this year. Or, if we’ll push Hz even further this year. It’s also wonderful to see BlurBusters getting such mainstream recognition, it’s well deserved; I always speak highly of you and this site.

It's not limit for sure since there are 1440p 240hz monitors on market. Also there will be 5120x1440 240hz (link below) that imo will work with single displayport cable.

When 240hz came around it was Acer who had a 27-inch model. I'm hoping this repeats as for me the screen size actually matters a lot. I had trouble on the 24-inch monitor.

Yeah I prefer 27” myself but I actually just got to try a friend’s 24.5” 144Hz tonight and I think I overestimated the difference. I’m now pretty sure I can tolerate the size decrease for the frame increase but if they do announce a 27”, I’ll go with that. I’m eagerly awaiting pricing and release date information.
