I've been using ROG Phone 2 for 6 months now. The best phone that I've ever owned. Thanks to 120 Hz mode the phone feels incredibly fast! Not just in gaming, but in every day use. On the contrary, the games I play on it (PUBG mostly) only support 60 Hz (there is a Chinese version that supports 120 Hz, but I couldn't be bothered to install it).But the animation in menu, other applications, scrolling give sensation of using a very fast and high end phone.
iPhone 11 Pro Max, which supposedly has the fastest mobile hardware available feels so sluggish and slow due to limited 60 Hz screen.
You can experience what I'm talking about first hand. In Apple store try iPad Pro that has 120 Hz screen and compare it with 60 Hz devices like iPad Mini or iPhone 11 Pro Max.
