NEW Benq Zowie Monitors Speculation/Info Thread (XL2546K-B, XL2546K, XL2411K)

I'll open up with this video I cut out from my stream:

If you have more info, don't hesitate to share it!

UPDATE: (copied from comment below vid)

Code: Select all

We got a SLEW OF NEWS from BenQ themselves!

https://zowie.benq.com/en/xl-k-series.html

Basically, the stand changes are supposedly there, not as a cost saving measure, but instead a space saving one.
Both the new XL2546K and XL2411K will come with the new stand.

The 2546K is still 240hz, and the 2411K is a (hopefully budget) 144hz monitor with DyAc and an S-switch.

Idk whether the 2411K uses a newer panel than the 2411P (I think) it replaces, but if it does, it should also have better colors than it's predecessor, along with finally getting the beloved S-switch and DyAc.

They also redesigned the OSD, judging from the pictures, and the OSD buttons have been moved to the back of the monitor, with the addition of a joystick.

Now you can also easily share your monitor settings via software!

No word on the XL2546K-B yet.
No 360hz from Benq yet.

Thanks for posting this!

I'm looking forward to seeing if ZOWIE releases 360 Hz too.

Trace it backwards to the panel manufacturer and it seems all of the 360 Hz capable panels may need to take until end of the year to be manufactured in sufficient quantities to support a monitor launch. COVID had a big impact too...

Some vendors announce early (beginning of development lifecycle) and others announce late (going full skunkworks, developing in secret), and now we've got the unforseen issue (COVID). Publically, historically, delay from announcement-to-shipping varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, and model to model. Sometimes it's mere weeks/months and sometimes more than a year.

From the publicly posted information throughout the Internet, I'd easily guesstimate Holiday 2020 season for any manufacturer, doesn't matter which vendor, they all need the nuts and bolts.

Combine that with generic knowledge that monitor development lifecycles are a year (minimum), and we know 360 Hz was announced at CES 2020 in January, there you go.

It's probably a horse race which manufacturer will be actual first in user hands though. No words on betting odds. Place your bets. Ha.

Someone with more free time than me should look up when the first 240hz panels were shown-off on showfloors (CES, etc) and when they were actually released in proper retail monitor form...

Expect at least the same amount of wait time, most likely more becasue of the virus.

Also, don't forget to check how late Benq was to the party.

I'm looking to get my hands on a XL2546K. Just missed out on the S. Will it be the same panel?

Nobody knows...we're all waiting.
At this point, 360hz 2nd gen looks even more attractive since nvidia announced 30xx series with such great price-to-performance ratio.
I just don't know...its bonkers.
And its obvious that nvidia is scheming with intel.
But intel is living in the past atm and is trying to catch up.
What will amd do? Who knows, nvidia is afraid of them.
How will benq react to all of this seeing that rigs could run 360hz without any problems (budget wise)?
Nobody knows.

I have tried several 240hz IPs panels, and I still prefer the feel in mouse movement and reduced blur on a TN panel. I doubt this will be any different with the new 360hz panels.
