Wonder how sufficient native GtG and adjoining overdrive performance will be on these first-gen 1440p 360hz panels...

Special dual format 25" 1080p mode on 27" 1440p? Is that 1080p stretched to 2320x1305 size? Hopefully alt-tabbing works without black screens.

I don't get what dual-layer voltage driver really does? How it works?

Dual-Format 25”

We get it - sometimes you want to play on a smaller display for certain games. We have you covered. With Dual-Format, you can play at the familiar 25” diagonal size at 1080p. Simply enable Dual-Format in the monitor settings and choose your desired resolution.

We have also added a new special resolution that makes a pixel perfect 25” display for increased 25” sharpness.
Also, interestingly, it looks like there's only going to be one 360Hz 1440p model (ASUS PG27AQN) to start, with the remainder being 300Hz:

I feel the "endgame" monitor may be closer than what we think.

Having the possibility to reduce the screen size on the go, while maintaining the same pixel density and not increasing input lag (wich happens when you create a custom resolution and don´t stretch it to the full monitor size); simplly amazing.

If these models have good response times I think they can last almost a decade for a lot of people. Perfect. Time to start selling every model I have around here, minus the masterpieces. Most models will seem obsolete compared to what´s coming.

I love technology

Oh so it probably offers both stretched and 1:1 25" resolutions. 32" 1440p would be 1:1 25" 1080p.

That is an important note. If understood the girl in first video she said its an 360hz overclock.

Slight OT: in the presentation nvidia claimed that 27" 1440p improved accuracy by 3% compared to 24" 1080p in their FPS aim tester program. What do you guys think about this? Perhaps there is truth to it, or perhaps they're just trying to move more people towards 1440p and therefore need a higher end GPU.

If the difference is there, I wonder if it's mainly from the size, resolution, or a combination of both.

Whether there is or isn't any truth to their claims, while more is almost always better, 3% ain't much. Such a claim is at least avoiding the hyperbolic; it's not like they're saying there's a 25% improvement.

Part of the supposed improvement could be due to the increased pixel density of 1440p at equivalent display sizes, which may make mouse control (at appropriate DPI) more granular, as well as increase sub-pixel detail to enable better differentiation of your targets from their environment.

As long as the system is up to the task to achieve the same average framerate on the 27" 1440p display as it does on the 24" 1080p display, and it has equivalent overdrive performance, at the very least, I certainly see no obvious downside in running 1440p over 1080p.

I can be wrong, but didn't them compare it to 1080p 240hz? I see no reason for aiming better at 27. In fact that's why these models have dual mode with a smaller screen for e-sports games. To me that's the manufacter themselves saying smaller screen have advantages over bigger ones. And I do agree. I tried several 27 inches and I had to out them way further back, wich breaks my connection with the game. I always have better aim on smaller screens.

27 1440p is great for battle Royal games with bad visibility tho. On that type of game, aiming is not the most important factor imo
