Any news on a release date for the Asus PG27AQN?
I asked Asus this on a live stream and I was told late Q3. So hopefully within the next 60 days

I can't find the specific month right now but I remember being curious about this as well, so I looked at when it was first announced (e3) vs when it was released for last year, it should give you the ballpark.

[...video...]
It's a worthy innovation needed to keep pushing the refresh rate race.

As refresh rates get higher, sounds like multiple simultaneous pixels are being refreshed concurrently by voltages transmitted by both left and right edges of the screen.

Some LCDs already refresh multiple pixels concurrently (to have more time to initiate LCD GtG despite higher refresh rates). Such as splitting the screen into 4, 6 or 8 vertical bands, and sending voltage pulses simultaneously from the top or bottom edge or both, to refresh different pixels in each subdivided band of screen.

But this is new -- sending the voltage refresh from both the left/right edges simultaneously is an innovation by AUO too. More power sent to pixels down very long microwires in the active matrix grid, means less time needed to kickstart a pixel transition. More Hz become available without color/contrast/GtG degradation of too-briefly refreshing pixels.

Many techniques being done in the refresh rate to retina refresh rates, to maximize power sent to pixels during higher Hz. 360Hz means a panel has 1/6th the time energizing a pixel as 60Hz, so special techniques are increasingly needed to prevent degradations caused by spending too little time refreshing a pixel.
The 1080p 360Hz panel released back in 2020 already comes with dual-layer voltage driver.

(https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/ne ... -monitors/)

"NVIDIA and AU Optronics have collaborated to develop the next-generation of IPS panel technology for these 360Hz G-SYNC displays: IPS dual-driver. This new IPS panel technology maintains fast, consistent response times and color levels across the entire panel--even at 360Hz refresh rates.

Compared to other display types, IPS panels also deliver enhanced color expression, giving more punch to visuals, and helping gamers pick out targets from surroundings. While TN panels have historically been used in esports displays for their fast response times, gamers had to sacrifice on color fidelity. With the new dual-driver IPS panel and NVIDIA G-SYNC, they can have the best of both worlds."

Thats why I always say that 360Hz IPS is better than 240Hz TN despite some the transition on IPS are a bit slower than TN.

We have some pursuit shots and measurements of the AG274QS, 1440p 300Hz. Possibly the same panel as PG27AQN if its an +60Hz overclock?

I read a 1440p 300Hz monitor review from a Chinese website (not the exact same monitor) and the panel is made by innolux.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. So we can expect even better GtG performance. Than PG should come very close to 360Hz TN. Who knows maybe even outpaces it. For it to be impressive I want to see at least 1ms reduction.

I wouldn't dare to preorder. Official user manual isn't even provided yet. I want to know more about features, ULMB and stuff.

The person who posted this claims that the data came from AUO official. Afaik these data are "without any overdrive". I guess with overdrive, the response time could be even faster than the 360Hz TN.
