144Hz probklem CS:Go

Hi,

I bought my first 144Hz display (Asus VG279Q) and everything is awesome and works fine, but CS:Go has major issues. First it wouldn't even start, there's just a black screen (sound is hearable) and my Asus display seems pretty overstrained (settings menu can't react to every input, everything slow). The only option is to switch the display off an on again (second screen works fine all the way).

After trying diffrent things (checked again that XBOX DVR is off, added start commands for CS:GO e.g. "-refresh 144" and "-freq 144") the game startet but there was always a slight flickering (menu and ingame). I don't know what to try or do anymore. I hope someone of you can give me a hint or something.

I am using an Vega 56 with Freesync and the latest driver, Win10, i5 6600K, 2x8GB HyperX FURY DDR4-2666, Samsung 840 EVO, Gigabyte GA-Z170-Gaming K3-EU

thanks in advance for any help

Oh and I'm using the displayport cable that came with the display.

Can you check what firmware version this is? The first version of the firmware had some glitches (I have heard a couple of reports) but after exchanging, the problems disappeared.

But first:
- Try GPU driver full reinstall
- Try CS:GO config clear
- Try full power cycle (full turnoff of computer, full unplug and replug monitor)
- Did you install custom resolutions in the past with an old monitor? Clear them first.
- Did you try disabling FreeSync mode temporarily? (Did problems disappear when you do)
- Did you try upgrading graphics drivers? (early NVIDIA GSYNC Compatible (FreeSync) drivers are known to be glitchy)

There's been rave reviews for this new 144Hz IPS monitor with FreeSync and blur reduction from my contacts. This fast yet reasonably priced IPS panel seems to be the future of 144Hz monitors (even though TN will still be the king of 240Hz+ for a while yet)
