Apparently GSync requires Win10. Does FreeSync as well or does it work on Win7?

Where did you see that gsync need Windows 10?

For example here: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/10 ... er-thread/

Also when I search for "gsync win7", I find various forums and reddits where people are told to use Win10.

I'm asking since I don't see the GSync option in NVidia's control panel, but that might be because I've been using NVSlimmer when installing GPU drivers for a while now?

Ok so I've read a bunch and it seems "it requires Win10" because I'm trying to run a "G-Sync Compatible" Monitor (LG 27GL850), aka AdaptiveSync.

So the way I see it, I can either:
  • forget about VRR
  • sell my NVidia GPU and buy an AMD GPU
  • install Win10

Wow, so AMD supports Win 7 but Nvidia doesn't? That's f'd up!

If I were you I'd go for Win 10 Enterprise LTSC or Home using some cheap OEM license, but all three of those options suck. I chose #1 because I'm using a regular 60 Hz monitor, so not much benefit for me anyway.
