HDR Tests at TestUFO 2.0: beta.testufo.com

Post by Chief Blur Buster » 18 Sep 2024, 21:18

Hello everybody,

TestUFO 2.0 is now fully public after a long partially public beta test period. If you want to test your HDR, check out TestUFO 2.0 at beta.testufo.com in Chrome on both PC and Mac. In addition to MANY enhancements to existing tests, sitewide enhancements (Dark Mode!), and a bunch of new tests were added:
  1. HDR Test:
...You can also test your HDR
    beta.testufo.com/hdr

  2. Local Dimming Test:
...There's a new local dimming test.
    beta.testufo.com/local-dimming

  3. Color Ghosting Test:
...This is good for testing KSF screens (strobed KSF or local-dimming KSF).
    beta.testufo.com/color-ghosting

  4. Improved MPRT Test:
...There's a new MPRT Indicator test based on a improved version of RTINGs' test.
    beta.testufo.com/mprt

  5. Marquee Test:
...This was in the original version of TestUFO before being removed from the menus, but it is now back, with configurable HDR colors too!

For other tests, and seeing the enhancements to existing tests, choose tests from the menu at the top.
For bug reports, submit issue at www.github.com/blurbusters/testufo-public/issues
(Please do not use github for tech support, use the TestUFO forum here.)

Hopefully this will help bring better HDR quality to PC over the long term. Some platforms combined with some displays, like MacBook XDR displays, generally has unusually impressive simultaneous SDR+HDR compared to Windows 11 and current PC gaming monitors. This needs to come to PC displays.
