best monitor that is safe for eye/eye strain? Long hours for engineering, work and some gaming

Post by xx4646251 » 25 Jan 2025, 17:42

Hello all. I have been checking monitors that are "eyesafe certified" and wanted to get thoughts from everyone if these are helpful.

I see that there are multiple monitors from BenQ, HP, Lenovo, Gigabyte, etc. that are eyesafe certified. Can anyone advise what monitor they use that has little to no eyestrains? I know no monitor is perfect, but I want to go with something that more safer for the eyes than performance.

I am specifically looking at 27 inch monitor (or higher, just depends on what is available). There are IPS, VA, etc. but I am not sure which would be the best. I have been using laptop only for years and my eyes are getting worse - I want to invest on a monitor that will protect my eyes for the future. Any suggestions will help.

I do programming and sometimes gaming.

I have ultrawide monitor 3440x1440p @ 144hz, LG 34GK950F, for around 4 years now. I would recommend it highly - there is noticeable panel glow (when viewing dark backgrounds, and the darks are not too deep), but that's all fine for me.
