Monitor native resolution defaults to tv hd instead of pc

Post by h0stile » 04 Feb 2025, 11:01

Hi there, my monitor BenQ xl2411p was working fine until a week ago, when suddenly it started outputting weird colors/low quality gamma like the black is greyish and there are red/green noise, the white is washed out and also the shadows and the dark in video games have pixelation. The only different thing I noticed is that it started to default to 60hz when I turn it on and in nvidia control panel, the "native" resolution is on the upper "Ultra HD, HD, SD" and before it was on the lower section "PC". I can switch to 1080p under "PC" and the monitor will output 144hz, but the colors are still messed up. I tried resetting the factory settings, changing the color format in nvidia cp, reinstall the drivers and install drivers from the benq site, updated gpu drivers, reinstalled windows and still the colors are low-quality and the image is washed out and the pixelation in video games is still present. Anyone have any idea what can be wrong?

Downloaded the program, but can you give some tips what to delete, as it detects on the left "established resolutions" like 800x600 and 1024x768 with 60-75hz, on detailed resolutions(3slots left) only have 1920x1080 60.000hz , and Standard resolutions detects 8 resolutions from 1920x1080 to 1280x1024 and all are 60hz except the lowest 4:3 and 5:4 ones -

1.) Untick all resolutions on the sidebar
2.) Delete all entries in the "Standard resolutions" section & the "Extension blocks" section
3.) Create a detailed resolutions, using the "Exact Reduced" timing profile.
4.) Set 1920x1080 @ 144Hz
5.) Enjoy.
