Remove default Nvidia Monitor Resolutions - UltraHD,HD,SD How?

Post by BenQplaceboMyth » 15 Mar 2025, 18:29

Hello and thank you for this wonderful forums existance. I play alot of HL based games such as Counter-Strike 1.6, Half-Life and such (FPS) based games. And im used to playing 4:3 resolutions 640x480, 800x600 etc. So each time i start the game my monitor scales using GPU from Nvidia control panel from Native 1920x1080 240hz > 800x600 (4:3). But sometimes when i minimize the game or tabbing out fast, Windows thinks its a good idea to do something weird :? and change to.....

Nvidia>
Ultra HD, HD, SD--------
Resolution:
1080p, 1920 x 1080 (native) [Refresh rate: 60Hz]

So i have to start Nvidia Control Panel... wait for it to start, go back scroll down to
PC --------
1920 x 1080 and change [Refresh rate: 240Hz]

Apply and wait for it to take effect additonally 2 - 3 seconds.

So my question, is it possible to remove all those "default" profiles using some tool. Cant seem to find any Delete button in Nvidia. :?: :(

You can use ToastyX CRU and see if one of the extension blocks contains a "TV Resolutions" entry. If yes, delete that and reboot. To actually open an extension block to see what's in it, double-click it. The extension blocks are listed in the bottom box.
