please help me choose a monitor!

Would you all choose Asus VG279QM ($400) or alienware AW2720HF ($350) for a monitor for a mid-budget PC build?

PC can hit 300 fps in e-sports titles (which are the main games being played) at 1080p, but would struggle with AAA titles or other demanding games(60-100 fps). Mainly the monitor will be used for rocket league. I've read review after review and I'm not sure which to choose. I heard the Asus has better motion clarity but the alienware has less input lag (based on RLCSContenders giant thread)?
