Everyone I ask suggest I go with 24.5 inch, though I was told the text may look grainy due to the low pixel density or you may see the pixels on the desktop is this true for your VG279qm?
Yes, I noticed everybody recommends 25" on 1080p displys. Seems like most people don't like the pixel size/density on 27".
Pixels are visible yes, but its not that much worse than 25" as people may say, because pixels are also visible on 25".
If you're not sure and don't want to risk it just go for 25". Its a matter of personal preference. Of course the best would be if you could experience it yourself.

I forgot to mention about VG's fixed 60Hz input lag issue. It can be a big problem if u use 1920x1080@60Hz.

A better 25" choice would be MSI MAG251RX, I belive it can do crosshair inside msi software.
I sit away from the monitor about 2.2 feet away from me, yea all those rumours maybe they are exaggerating, though it may not look bad? As what people say they do. I wouldn’t mind the bigger size but people say it’s kinda grainy, people had return it etc

I stay in the safe side for 24.5inch

Lol I’m setting it to 280hz never going to use 60hz

In my country 25" are also a bit more expensive. Thats interesting.
I'm on VG279QM and I don't mind the pixels at all and bigger size much better than 25".
Solid monitor, medium build quality. Main downside of these monitors is locked overdrive when ELMB is enabled. But if u don't use ELMB it will do very good.

I have been using vg279qm already for the year and very happy with it in CS GO with 4:3 black bars, I tried half-year ago 24.5 Acer vg252qx and it became harder to see enemies on smaller picture. Yes, problem with text exists with vg279qm, but I also work with many emails on this monitor and I just pushed backed this monitor on 3-5sm than my previous vg248qe stand and now it's fine. So if you like to play with 4:3 I highly recommend to go for vg279qm, game experience with 4:3 will be better than on 24.5.

Sry, haven't read it earlier, I tried also vg258qm several weeks ago and it become impossible for me to play with 24.5, 27 with black bars very cool)) but anyway I think vg259qm good choice.
