I currently use the x25f and wanted an upgrade since it's quite blurry when aiming left and right, mainly playing CS.
Was thinking of the vg259qm or vg258qm, not sure yet.
Any recommendations, something that is under £350.

Re: Looking for a better 240+ hertz monitor
if you notice blur with your x25 there are no monitors out there that can improve your situation,
regardless of the cost, maybe x25 not f.
You can try benq with dyac but you will have to accept vertical micro straps of dyac and the price around 500€

Re: Looking for a better 240+ hertz monitor
what's this thing called vertical micro straps of dyac?

I have a 4gb GTX 980, do you think that may the problem here when it comes to smoothness? Using a ryzen 5600x CPU with 16gb 3200mhz ram.IIISLIDEIII wrote: ↑22 Jan 2022, 09:52if you notice blur with your x25 there are no monitors out there that can improve your situation,

in the same fps you will get same amount of motionblur in the same monitor , no matter what gpu you are usingzrtgu wrote: ↑25 Jan 2022, 19:39I have a 4gb GTX 980, do you think that may the problem here when it comes to smoothness? Mbr (aka dyac or bls), introduces a sort of fragmentation in the image, usually perceived on vertical lines, a kind of micro interruptions that are noticed above all in the right-left movements at medium speed, we are talking about subtleties, nothing exaggerated, but it happens (basically any monitor with mbr off will have a more fluid and natural scrolling of the image, obviously with the most perceptible blur), some are more sensitive to this, others less, I hate it, I will never use any bls on my monitors again.

I don't know, as a rule the more you are glued with the framerate to the max fq of your screen the better it is for the response timezrtgu wrote: ↑25 Jan 2022, 19:39I have a 4gb GTX 980, do you think that may the problem here when it comes to smoothness? What exactly are you talking about? Tearing? Overdrive artifacts?IIISLIDEIII wrote: ↑26 Jan 2022, 03:57Mbr (aka dyac or bls), introduces a sort of fragmentation in the image, usually perceived on vertical lines, a kind of micro interruptions that are noticed above all in the right-left movements at medium speed, we are talking about subtleties, nothing exaggerated, but it happens (basically any monitor with mbr off will have a more fluid and natural scrolling of the image, obviously with the most perceptible blur), some are more sensitive to this, others less, I hate it, I will never use any bls on my monitors again.
Also it's normal to have MBR off look more fluid, the higher the motion clarity the easier it is to notice microstutters and artifacts.

i don't know what name to give to what i described, but it doesn't matter, just try any screen with mbr active to understand what i'm talking about.axaro1 wrote: ↑26 Jan 2022, 04:59What exactly are you talking about? I always look for a balance in performance, my opinion is that monitors should be used in their natural state, without tricks, mbr is a ploy that brings with it several side effects.
Not satisfied with the response time of your monitor?
you sell it and buy one with better response time, native, not with mbr
This is my opinion

I honestly don't know what you are talking about, do you mean strobe crosstalk? strobing afterimage?IIISLIDEIII wrote: ↑26 Jan 2022, 07:19just try any screen with mbr active to understand what i'm talking about.
