Bought a 240hz IPS, returned it, need recommendations for a good 240HZ TN.

Hello forum.

I have been gaming on a very mediocre middle of the pack Dell S2419HGF, its a 27inch 144hz TN monitor, I love the monitor, it's just that on anything other than the "normal" Response Time mode the monitor has a TON of ghosting. I'm usually on the "fast" setting but still it is bad. Plus it's a 27 inch so not the best clarity for a 1080p.

Here is where the f*ck up happens. I order myself a new 240HZ IPS monitor, the Dell S2522HG. I unbox it, set it up. Use it for a few minutes, first impressions are wow, cool colors, cool motion clarity on 240hz. But then I started shifting my eyesight from right to left. I kid you not a WHOLE AS* cloud was following my vision. The IPS glow was SO extreme, like just going to https://whitescreen.website/black-screen/ and using the black monitor, and just shifting my head a tiny bit left and right, there was a huge BALL of grey pixels following my vision left and right. It gave me literal headaches, I was literally nauseous all day, needless to say I returned that monitor and I am never touching an IPS after that. I understand that I could have just got a bad model, I understand that most IPS monitors are probably sick, but I just want a good 240hz TN panel, to enjoy tac fps shooters such as valorant and CS:GO, maybe some Tarkov and COD.

So here are my top options in my area (Greece):

1080p 240hz:
HP Omen X 25: 340€ (My current top choice but its hard to justify at 340, since I can get a 2k at 420€)
HP Omen X 25f: 290€ (Rtings has this monitor as one of the best, but people on this forum are saying there is ghosting)
AOC 24G2ZE/BK: 240€ (For whatever reason this one is listed as 4ms) (There are all TN panels btw idk why there is a same panel IPS)
AOC 24G2ZU/BK: 270€ (I'm wondering if these two are the exact same model? But for whatever reason this one is listed as 1ms)
Ozone DSP24: 320€ (This one is not available so will have to wait longer to get)

Also as for 2k 240hz:
HP Omen X 27: 420€ (I am wondering if this is a better option than the X25 since I am used to 27 inch plus it's a 2k)
Samsung Odyssey G7: 475€ (Have my doubts about VA)

Thank you for any recommendations boys, and apologies for the longer type post <3 Looking to order my monitor soonish so any input helps much love!

Hello forum,

The IPS glow on the 240hz monitor I purchased was unbearable, gave me headaches. Was the Dell s2522hg. A big cloud of grey pixels following my eyesight every time I shifted my head even a tiny bit. So, my options for 240hz TN panels are as follows, please help me pick a good one <3

1080p:
AOC 24G2ZE/BK 240hz tn 240€
AOC Agon AG251FZ2E TN 250€
AOC Agon AG251FZ TN 270€
AOC 24G2ZU/BK TN 270€
HP Omen X 25f 290€
OZONE DSP24 240 320€ (This one will take a long time to arrive, not currently available)
HP Omen X 25 TN 320€

and as for 2k:
HP Omen X 27 TN 430€

Thank you all so much, I tried earlier to post about this but then when trying to edit the post, my post never got uploaded so I'm trying again <3

Oh -- that is not the case. Your post just got added back to the Moderator manual-approve queue.

The manual-approve queue only applies to new forum members of few posts
- New Posts only appear when manually approved by a moderator.
- Edit posts will disappear automatically until the edit is approved manually by a moderator, then your post reappears.

Once you have more posts, and the system no longer believe you to be a covert AI-assisted spammer (we've already have GPT spammers that pretend to be forum members, then start spamming later), and so we need to use the manual method at this time, until we're able to upgrade the automatic-approve system.

*** IMPORTANT MODS NOTE -- I am keeping both of your posts, merged into one thread, to indicate to original poster that none of your posts were lost ***

HP Omen X 25 TN 320€
The X25 is using a fast panel with perfectly tuned overdrives.

Last year I tested this monitor for a short period of time and I was honestly impressed, I can definitely recommend it, just make sure that you are getting the X25 and not the X25f, which has no gsync module and worse motion clarity.

I have both X 25f and X 27 and I can say 2k 27'' is a pretty noticable upgrade. You gotta need a powerful pc too of course
