Still the Zowie XL2546K / XL2540K era or is it over? (in the 1080p range, of course)
I'm basically a big fan of the responsiveness of these Zowies, ghosting and strobing management is also very good when the FPS rate is fairly constant, crosstalk is always a problem with strobing in general, but I rather like their performance well.
What do you think ? do you use or do you still use Zowie?
As they are very popular and used by 90% of Pro players, especially on Apex Legends (main game I play)
I tried 1440P IPS for Apex Legends and even in low I absolutely didn't like the feeling and the performance and i prefer to stay with 1080p.
What is your choice and why ?

would be interesting someone with a xl2546k 240hz and a xl2566k 360hz, who has thoughts on both, if its worth paying more for 360hz, and how similar are the dyac modes on both

Re: Zowie XL2546K/2540K always worth it ?
I upgraded from the XL2546K to the XL2566K. The XL2566K feels more responsive. Also in games like Quake Live that has a max fps of 250. It's a great monitor. (Dyac and colors are the same imo)
I sold the XL2566K 2 weeks ago and then bought the PG27AQN, and returned that for a 1300 euro refund cause there are no custom resolutions possible on 360 hz and the screen darkens with ULMB2) and got the same monitor now as pro Apex player Faide: the VG259QM (with the right panel) for 130 euro second hand, thats literally 10 times less the price then the PG27AQN here in W Europe. The VG259QM feels very good in my main games Apex Legends on 180 fps locked and Quake Live. ( even if u don't look at the low price)
I would also like to mention that TGTLN a pro PUBG streamer with money like water still plays on the XL2546K and refuses to upgrade to the XL2566K. Same as Pro and super rich Apex player tsm_imperialhall.
(Check out the recent TGTLN Zowie settings Youtubevideo for PUBG for example; https://youtu.be/0wpokGq-KbMhe )
A reason not to upgrade for players like TGTLN could be I think cause they like to use passtrough mode to there capture cards on there streampc's. Passtrough is capped at 240hz cause of the HDMI 2.0 in-and-outputs capture cards have ( HDMI 2.0 is max 240hz), 360hz can only be done streaming with mirroring the screen in the NIVDIA control panel, what can cause small lag from my understanding.
Do I miss my XL2566K now? No not at all. Pretty happy with my new purchase for that low price. Plus I want that feeling out of my system that I did not missed out on any experience on the different monitors that pro players still uses till this day to see what suits me best. Apex feels very good on the VG259QM. Better then on the XL2566K to be honest, but could be a honeymoonfase. If I would try a other monitor now I would buy XL2546K again but not more then 230 euro second hand.

The Qisda panel. See viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7414&start=590 for more information.

Re: Zowie XL2546K/2540K always worth it ?
i've had both, on Apex Legends i've personally prefer the 46K, i do not appreciate the XL2566K due to the engine limitation, even with a QFT 190hz/240hz i've don't found this screen smooth enough for the price for Apex Legends but maybe for another games it's a great monitor like Osu/Valo/Ow.

I liked the speed of xl2540k but image felt too washed out.
well duh, it's TN and I'm not even against TN panels usually but I gotta say this one made me question why i need the motion clarity if can't distinguish elements easily from their background
I also liked the adjustability & ergonomics

That's was exactly what i thinking in the past !boomlegshot wrote: ↑05 Jul 2023, 09:13I liked the speed of xl2540k but image felt too washed out.

But on Zowie's monitors you have Color Vibrance and Black EQ which is very well implemented.
But totally agree, especially for Apex, why have better blur if I can't see much?
That's what I was thinking with the XG2431 which wasn't worth it for me, so I was on Zowie (also 360hz) but the image quality had pissed me off, so I went back to IPS and now I regret and say to myself "ok I see well overall but as soon as I move too quickly I don't understand much"
Fortunately my current Acer has a strobing mode otherwise I would be annoyed but I have to play with always the latest overdrive mode otherwise the screen feels jerky and sluggish and do with the overshoot.
What game do you play with your XL2540K ?

Re: Zowie XL2546K/2540K always worth it ?
None, I sent it back
Was a while ago, must have been either Apex, Csgo, Valorant or Overwatch where i felt like things blended too much and that's when I realized why Color Vibrance is there in the quick menu.
Generally don't like increasing digital vibrance even if it might help see better. You saturate your games?
