Do you know if the x 25 has any software/firmware update? Also on which OD did you set it? And did you turned off gsync?
As far as I know there are no firmware updates for the X 25.

I mainly used Level 2 but I also tested Level 3 a couple of times (I still preferred level 2), both with Gsync ON and OFF.

Level 3 feels to me more responsive with less blur. I tried with gsync but in Valorant it feels like there's a bit input lag. Maybe i needed to cap the fps below 240? I normally cap it at 240. But i heard that if you use gsync you need to cap the fps below the refresh rate.

I kinda agree, Level 3 is indeed slightly less blurry but when testing 1920pps in Smoothfrog I could easily notice overshoot when looking at the RGB traffic lights.

As for Gsync, definitely cap at 237fps or even lower if the fps cap is not consistent.

My experience with Gsync was great, as I previously said, motion clarity is so good on this monitor that screen tearing was very noticeable without Gsync. The issue kinda disappeared when approaching 400+fps in games like Overwatch but a 237fps cap was visually better.

I fell in love with this VG258QM. Comparing to x25 f it looks mostly the same but Asus feels somehow even more responsive when playing Valorant and CSGO.

Picture taken 280fps, Variable OD level 3, 960pps, brightness 20, contrast 80, VRR off, ELMB off

Much better than VG259QM with AU panel, never had Qisda one on 259QM. This VG258QM has Qisda TN panel tho.

Im going to do some more amateur research tomorrow...

Edit. This monitor is giving me some satisfaction first time in a while.

Current monitors: G7 27", Omen X25 f, previous: Asus VG27AQ, VG259QM, LG GP850b, Acer XV272UKV, PG278QR, PG279Q, MG27Q, S2721DGF

The service menu OD trick works on the VG258QM, too. OD section in OSD looks corrupt, but it does smth.
Don't forget to let the panel warm up for 2-3h before looking at UFO's(on IPS i notice a big differense in response times).
Also, look at 1920/2400pps, as its a better representation of panning in FPS, imo(ghosting/overshoot becomes more apparent).

Hi Prod1G I've seen your other posts and I wanted to ask you specifically since it seems like out of everyone you have tried the most amount of monitors haha. I'm looking for the best 24inch 1080p 240hz(minimum) monitor. It seems like you believe the Omen x25 is the best one but it's discontinued so other than that model which would you recommend? I'm torn between IPS or TN. Is the difference between the IPS that much better than the TN that it's worth the slight decrease in performance?

From the forums it looks like the Viewsonic XG2431 is the favorite for the IPS versions and I'm interested in the Asus XG249cm that you own but do not like. You said it's not worth the money but currently it's about 10% cheaper for me to get the Asus over the Viewsonic.

XL2566K is by far the best 24inch 1080p 240+ Hz monitor.

Also consider the Acer XV252Q F (390 Hz) as one of the best IPS monitors for competitive gaming. Also note the PG27AQN which I didn't try but apparently has almost as good pixel transition times as the XL2566K (its panel is called ultrafast IPS and it is a significant improvement over all other IPS monitors which use fast IPS).

Thank you so much for the reply, I forgot to mention I'm trying to keep the budget around or under $350 if its possible. I'm trying to buy an entire setup (desk, chair, etc.) and my allowed budget is already stretched to the max haha. Do you have any top tier recommendations for anything near my budget?

I'm afraid I haven't tested monitors in that price range and cannot really help you. The Acer one I mentioned is around 420€ where I live, though. I haven't tested the Viewsonic XG2431 and as you mentionned, I've heard good things about it on this forum, especially if you like to use motion blur reduction.

I'd choose IPS over TN for 240Hz. IPS glow is smth you have to get used to, but having better viewing angles and colors is a plus.
I would say the only TN worth going for right now is the XL2566K, as it seems to handle 360Hz well (like PG27AQN on IPS front).
Don't go with current 24" 360Hz/390hz IPS, because look at this, lol :D (and that's just 1080pps...)

XG2431 should be very good, if you plan on using strobing (sadly nothing for me :/, also not available in EU).
Other than that consider:
S2522HG, XG259QM (both use a LG panel, that seem to have the fastest response times for unstrobed 240Hz IPS).
XG249QM (same panel as XG2431, good response times and 270Hz)
VG259QM (if you are ok with an older, but good 280Hz panel)
