Zowie XL2546 not smooth on League of Legends

Hi guys I'm hoping you can help me with this new monitor I bought the Zowie XL2546.
Currently I get 600 fps on CSGO which I cap at 400fps and is buttery smooth at 240hz. However, League of Legends is not smooth on this monitor and I'm not sure why. I have to cap the game at 144fps as it creates problems if capped higher. Riot stated themselves that it is recommended to cap at 144fps due to poor optimizations with the game. If I leave it capped at 240fps it feels much smoother but I get these weird jitters which I think is due to the game jumping frames which is due to the poor optimization I think. Anyway, my problem is that I need to play the game with 144fps but it doesn't feel good. I can't really explain it but it just doesn't feel smooth even though I'm getting 144fps. The game feels much smoother when I turn on vsync but the input lag is unbearable. Before this, on my 120hz monitor, I wasn't having this problem at all. If im not mistaken, the monitor should behave like a 144hz monitor if set at 240hz with a 144fps cap. I also have a new ryzen 5600x which I don't know if that has something to do with it. Here are some things I have tried:

Here are some things I have tried:
- windowed/borderless
- uninstalling gpu drivers and updating using ddu/cpu
- dyac on/off
- ama on/off
- changing refresh rate to 144hz
- capping fps at different values
- capping fps at 144 with Rivatuner
