Display scaling on new Benq monitors (ex: XL2546K) is ruined.

The TL;DR of this is:

Don't buy the Benq Zowie XL2546K if sharp display scaling is a priority to you.
It will scale from 1280x1024, no matter the timings or res you punch into CRU, and as a result will be blurry.
For example, my current preferred CS:GO res is 1360x1080, and it's so blurry on the 2546K, that it looks better with GPU scaling... while it's crisp AF on my old 2540. (which I'm keeping)
The older Realtek 2796BF scaler was excellent in the XL2540, as it managed to sharply display pretty much any weirdo res I threw at it... it didn't scale from any one res. It just did (and still does) what I'm telling it to do via CRU and that's it. Awesome.
That couldn't be further from the case with the new one they're using in the 2546K... and they will most likely keep using this bad scaler in their upcoming 360hz and 500hz monitors as well. :(

Take a look at this for more info:

btw, the processor also seems to be struggling a lot more in their 2546K...
when I change any value in the OSD (for example, brightness) with the scroll wheel on the s-switch, the numbers are changing very smoothly on the 2540, while they stutter on the 2546K.
It's reminiscent of older Benqs which I used have. (XL2411Z, XL2720Z)

If u have any questions, feels free to ask.
Just do not question my need for display scaling, or my desire to have weirdo resolutions.

I recently switched 1280x960 for CSGO and god damn it's a blurry mess on my XL2546k.

hey, I've stumbled across this post amongst others about scalers on recent zowie displays. I'm interested in getting one and it seems to have the problematic scaler but I am a bit confused if this is going to be an issue.

I use native resolution everywhere, I'm fine with changing to Gpu scaling if needed or no scaling etc... would the zowie scaler pose an issue in this situation? Is it still going to look blurry/worse than the older xl2540 on native resolutions in terms of sharpness?

native resolution doesn't use scalers because it's... native but I can't say if its blurrier than the xl2540 since I dont have either. But my xl2546k looks fine native. Even scaling isn't as bad as people say. It's worse than good scalers but playable. Pretty much most pros use the 2546k with no issues

I see, been through a few monitors recently and some looked sharper than others, even with lower ppi so i've been wondering if it's a scaler thing but def gonna try zowie out, thanks.
