[FIX] Alienware AW2518HF frameskipping/ghosting fix (and possibly all the other AW2XXX series such as the AW2521HF)

Just to give an update on test I did here on AW2518HF , using the Original Post timings my monitor does not have any overshoot even using superfast overdrive but using the values in the Update from the post it gives me Overshoot like the normal values.

Hello !!! Could you send me screenshots of the values you used and everything you touched on the CRU? I have an AW2518HF here.

its literally the values from the Original Post , not the update , but i just dont know why it goes away with the overshoot , and it feels like the Overdrive settings do literally nothing , but IDK.Caronizeeee wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 18:47

I have the AW2521HF and noticed this bug when using a 1050 ti: https://youtu.be/kM25QykH-Vc
Since then I've upgraded to a 4070 and have not seen the same issue. Would these adjustments fix something like that? I also haven't noticed frame skipping but I'm not sure what that looks like.

Hello. What are the best timings to use for less blur and a screen resolution of 1440x1080 (in csgo)?

Quick question.
I changed settings in cru according to the screenshots, went to apply g-sync, monitor would then flash black on a loop and wouldn’t turn back on, force shut down pc, and now my PC won’t boot.
When powering on, the fans will start and then stop immediately. There will be no more response until flicking the switch on the back of the pc or removing the power cables.
Any advice or steps for troubleshooting would be great.
So far I have removed every piece of hardware, incl ram, gpu, nvme and ssd to see if any fix. I have also removed cmos.
Am assuming fried PSU, but the timing of the g-sync application and this has me a bit worried.
Thank you.

Hey mate, thanks for the reply.
I have an 850w platinum coming tomorrow to test, will update when it arrives if it solved the problem.
When doing the paper clip test, if left off for a while will power on when power switch turned on, but then when flipped off and on again shortly after, the fans will turn on and off, if repeated again, the fans won’t budge.
So seemingly degrades when flipped in rapid succession.
Also when the fans start and fail, I can physically feel something like a fail safe switch from the back of the Psu kicking in.
I really hope it’s not GPU or mobo, although both are within warranty so not the end of the world.
Thanks for the assistance!

New PSU solved. Just bad timing or a sudden draw of power when changing between fixed and gsync possibly pushed it over the edge.
Anyway, all good
