What he essentially doing is deleting all the known 1080p configurations so only 1 can be loaded. Which is the 1920x1080@239hz which he left in the Detailed Resolution.
In this case you're forcing "1080p" to run on that refresh rate and that refresh rate alone.

how big is the chance that that actually works in games and not only gives you a black screen/crashes the game?

No idea, I haven't messed with it too much to really test this. In theory this could work to enforce one specific resolution set + refresh rate information to the game.

I'll try it out today. In Multiversus i have to press Alt+Enter 2x (entering & exiting Windows Mode) EVERY start of a battle just that the game plays in 237Hz (Gsync + Vsync settings according to Blurbusters Gsync 101). If not done, it stays locked at 60Hz.
Another option is to activate and deactivate V-Sync, but for this you have to go in the menu and press it... Not enough time at the start of a match for that....
If this solution works... that would be wonderful!
Also some other games start on my 1440p Screen at 1080p the first time after buying new... Maybe this solvey that too... Lets try!

Try using GPU scaling instead of Display, I found Gsync works more often and better with it. (also its faster)

just throwing it out there, is it normal that VRR/Freesync in forced 60 hz games only seems to work at framerates from 57-59 fps? well maybe slightly lower than that but i tried 30,50,60 (all didnt work) the 57-58 recommended on the internet worked though. is it maybe because the monitor cant do low framerate compensation at 60 hz? i am using a 27GN750-B.
