24.5 vs 27" Differences

Post by Faygo » 14 Aug 2022, 21:55

Nice to meet you all here.

I would like some opinion on 24.5 360hz vs 27" 240hz screen differences. I was so dumb to sell my XL2746 and left the Acer XB272 with myself. Both are 240hz TN screen but Zowie one is obviously better.

I'm now screening for new monitor but unfortunately 360hz is limited to 24.5", i afraid the screen is too small for a 38 years old man.

i've tried AW2721D before and found 1440p is not my taste, always feeling mouse is not as smooth. Maybe i'm just too old and still stuck in those 4:3 resolution era. even nowadays i still find 1280x1024 / 1680x1050 is way smoother.

Should i just stick to 27" 240 or should give 24.5 360hz a shot ?

360hz is going to be IPS and it looks like you were using TN all the time, just food for thought
If I were you I'd wait for that 540hz TN instead
I myself went from Omen X 25f 240hz 1080p 24.5'' TN to Omen X 27 240hz 1440p 27'' TN no regrets and will most likely not change the monitor to anything less than 1440p and 27''

Yes i've been using TN most of the time, the only time i tried IPS is VG279QM and AW2721D.
it seems that 540hz TN is also 24.5, but i think i better wait for the review when PG27AQN comes out in the coming months and decide.

540/500 tn is amled loaded it's not the same old tn of old. and besides who needs to up the dig vibrance unless u are playing a cartoony game in the first place. only people who enjoy that needed to do that with pubg back in 2017 cus pubg was in trend. Specifically PUBG 17 was like the TN of game titles.

but it's all a joke.

also there was a time playing cod4 on 21in felt like a joke. completely overwhelming and trip inducing.
