ATTENTION: Post Approval Queue is Temporarily Slow This Summer

Post by Chief Blur Buster » 16 Aug 2022, 20:16

Hello,

3 of the volunteers moderators are currently slow or out of commission

- One moderator is working overtime on their full time work
- One moderator is executing a big move
- Myself is busy on work

Manual post-approvals for forum members on pre-approve queue is currently slow, occasionally taking a week (sorry about that!).

Even to this day, please expect a few days for your post to be approved.

Approvals will be sped up in the coming weeks, but will unavoidably remain slow for the remainder of the summer...

We will also begin recruiting an additional new forum moderator.

Please do not send PMs to Moderator/Administrator/Myself complaining about the system nor unapproved posts -- this will only bog us down & slow us down, unfortunately. The ad banners on the forums do not remotely cover forum staffing costs so this section of Blur Busters is mostly volunteer run. Polite suggestions are welcome in the Suggestions forum.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We use a manual-approve system here. AI-based spam already bypasses our spam filters, by using GPT-3 style AI algorithms to write pretend on-topic posts that don't match anything that has been posted in the past. Another tactic is insertion of offtopic advertising links/phishing/hacking in post edits months later. Therefore, we rely on manual post-approvals (even for post edits) for members that are not pre-approved yet. Most human forum members with a clean forum-posting record automatically get instant posting pre-approval status after a number of legitimate posts.
