Hello, I see you have experience with Acer 390Hz one, can you share please your opinion on XL2566 and Acer 390hz(comparison)? I have been using Acer 390Hz more than half a year(and with VBR on), really eager to know how it stands in comparison to new Zowie TN, thank you in advance.
I guess it comes down to personal preference. I would say it is not a huge upgrade / sidegrade for anyone. But if you want to point the differences out:

Benq has more clear and clean motion. No question for me. Also much better build quality and feel of premium. It gets very bright even when strobed. OSD, buttons, S-switch, monitor stand, all are superb. Pre-set modes also work very well for competitive games and are handy to switch to, which eliminates the need to install vibranceGUI and do special tricks with software. Ultimately it's still TN and expensive.

Acer has all the benefits of IPS and good pricing. Even motion wise it's good, but the fact is, there is more powdery trailing behind moving objects compared to Benq no matter how you strobe it. Build quality is more of a budget monitor type. OSD and buttons are annoying, it strangely forgets settings you dial in or is very uninituitive to use. Yet still Acer would be far more easy recommendation for general audience as it's a pretty steady allrounder in performance, with more fair price.

However. If you are in that niche, who follows these forums. Reads about this stuff. It's a hobby of sorts. And you want the absolute cleanest ghosting ufo's and motion performance on the market, and on top of that you have some disposable income. You feel you are just fine with 24" 1080p SDR TN, cause at the end of the day, none of that really matters for you. XL2566K is currently the one to get.

Okay, so couple nights in with XL2566K. I'm impressed.

My expectations for image quality were set low. So bearing that in mind, it's been really a delight. Standard color profile was on point out of the box after just enabling: custom color profile. First time ever I've seen white balance being perfectly on point pre-calibration, no need to fiddle with monitor RGB settings (on mine) at all. After calibration contrast well over 1000:1. Panel uniformity very good. TN viewing angels are the only real issue here. Browsing web, watching youtube, photos etc - it all works well enough and representation is accurate enough. When you're in SDR SRGB - which most of all still should be.

Let's be real however, the reason why you buy this monitor is not image quality. You buy it for uncompromised responsiveness and motion clarity. It truly delievers. 360Hz with finally compliant response times feels what it should have been from the beginning. Enabling Dyac strobing it takes clarity even further and on some short occasions things moving on screen look more organic than ever. Uncanny valley of perceived motion when object moves accross screen. I have never felt this much "connected" to the game inputs. So if you are in the market for the best tool only in this regard, this is it.

But I also have an issue with Dyac - and would appriciate any help. For some reason with dyac strobing, it does seem to cause me headache and tired eyes very quickly (30mins in) - even if I have monitor relatively dim (160 nits) and lights on in the room. This happened to me with XL2456K as well. I have not experienced this kind of issue previously Acer 390Hz strobing or MAG251RX strobing. What could be so different here with BenQ implementation? Is there anything worth trying to make it easier? Is there something maybe that could be done with Strobe Utility by Blurbusters? All help appreciated.

I had the 390 Acer also. The 2566k is like the ACER 390 inputlagwise but with way better blur reduction ( dyac withouth any loss of brightness) no bleeding colors and a black color eQualizer.

How much of an upgrade would this be to a VG279QM?

Only playing fast paced FPS games like Quake Live (250 FPS cap built in), Quake Champions, Diabolical.

Input lag and motion clarity is extremely important and rest would be secondary as I have a decent IPS display for work.

Not sure if this model is worth the extra money compared to the 2456K 240Hz as Quake Live for example is capped at 250FPS. I guess it would only be worth it for the motion clarity when around 360 FPS in other games? Is the dyac improved on the new 2566K at 240Hz?

Substantial improvement, considering the XL2566K at 360hz is almost as crisp as a 240hz OLED. The 66k's higher refresh rate and better response times (along with a bigger refresh rate headroom for capped games, making strobing much more viable in +200hz range) are definitely worth it over the predecessor.
You could also run the BenQ with VRR at max refresh rate, thus achieving no tearing at 250fps (which also looks good, if you don't mind the sample and hold blur)
You could also make a custom QFT resolution and DyAC/Strobe at 250hz, have read it performs almost crosstalk-less at 240hz.

Can u please elaborate what would be the benefit of a custom resolution while playing Quake Live that is capped at 250 fps?

Less crosstalk then on 360hz?

What does less crosstalk mean? Less blur?

What is the best way to make a custom resolution for Quake Live on the XL2566K?
What are the specs of this resolution?
Is there a tuturial?

I can't get inside the service menu, I'm pressing joystick + power button but it doesn't work.

I'm using a refurbished unit, batch is dated September 2022. Any idea?

Hello, I just recently ordered this monitor and was hoping someone could help. I play mostly esports games (valorant, ow2), but sometimes play the odd game such as elden ring with a 60 fps cap and other games where I get under 200fps. Can someone help guide me as to how to setup dyac+ and how to use the strobing utility, and whether playing this variety of games would require tweaking settings before starting each time, or if I can just simply turn off dyac+ or something before playing non-esports titles. Thanks.
