QFT is usually not beneficial to max Hz

QFT is a way of speeding up slow refresh cycles, e.g. transmitting a 120Hz refresh cycle in 1/360sec.
- Lower lag for low Hz
- Less strobe crosstalk (double image effects) for low Hz

If you run at 240Hz, QFT would help. Use ToastyX VT calculator for that.
I understand that by utilizing QFT at Max Hz benefits are marginal. But at the end of the day a benefit is a benefit no matter how small it is. And for a tweak that takes a minute to implement, you might as well take it.

QFT also helps VSYNC ON and global refresh technologies, but with LCDs in esports we're using VSYNC OFF and sequential scanout (www.blurbusters.com/scanout).

Non-overclockable LCDs receiving a signal faster than 1/240sec will just buffer the signal, and create an unwanted latency gradient along the vertical dimension, from the de-sync between cable scanout and panel scanout. (It's why 60Hz mode on fixed-horizontal-scanrate 240Hz panels have lag)

Unoverclockable esports LCDs are one of the max-Hz QFT (nonstrobed VSYNC OFF) situations of 99%+ chance of weird side effects for a <1% chance of improvement.

Should you cap your fps at 360 or a similar number, 400 or no cap?

Okay, so couple nights in with XL2566K. I'm impressed.

My expectations for image quality were set low. So bearing that in mind, it's been really a delight. Standard color profile was on point out of the box after just enabling: custom color profile. First time ever I've seen white balance being perfectly on point pre-calibration, no need to fiddle with monitor RGB settings (on mine) at all. After calibration contrast well over 1000:1. Panel uniformity very good. TN viewing angels are the only real issue here. Browsing web, watching youtube, photos etc - it all works well enough and representation is accurate enough. When you're in SDR SRGB - which most of all still should be.

Let's be real however, the reason why you buy this monitor is not image quality. You buy it for uncompromised responsiveness and motion clarity. It truly delievers. 360Hz with finally compliant response times feels what it should have been from the beginning. Enabling Dyac strobing it takes clarity even further and on some short occasions things moving on screen look more organic than ever. Uncanny valley of perceived motion when object moves accross screen. I have never felt this much "connected" to the game inputs. So if you are in the market for the best tool only in this regard, this is it.

But I also have an issue with Dyac - and would appriciate any help. For some reason with dyac strobing, it does seem to cause me headache and tired eyes very quickly (30mins in) - even if I have monitor relatively dim (160 nits) and lights on in the room. This happened to me with XL2456K as well. I have not experienced this kind of issue previously Acer 390Hz strobing or MAG251RX strobing. What could be so different here with BenQ implementation? Is there anything worth trying to make it easier? Is there something maybe that could be done with Strobe Utility by Blurbusters? All help appreciated.

Is the OptimumTech review of this monitor an accurate representation of how the colors look on this monitor?
Looks better than my Viewsonic XG270 240hz and I'm really really trying to weigh the costs and benefits of upgrading.
How is Dyac+? I've never used a Zowie monitor and it's been like 10 years since I used a TN panel.
Wait, how could you see that it looks better than your current monitor - if you're watcing it with your current monitor - which is afterall, displaying the image you are seeing  . But yeah, OptimumTech surely is known for making just about everything look beautiful.

TN is definitely worse image quality by quite noticeable margin. But then again. I don't know. If you sit in front of it (like you should) and you dont have a IPS/VA reference right next to it. I don't know. It looks fine really and sometimes I feel people excaggerate this aspect a bit too much. All LCD's are still somewhat compromised when it comes to iq.

Dyac+ is the thing with Zowie monitors. Without it, they have class leading motion clarity, for sure, but dyac is what makes them leap further than anything else really. But strobing is not for everyone, you could not like the "feeling" of it, or you can get physically sick or eyestrains.

If competitive gaming is all you do, and you want the best 1080p tool for the job. I think this is it. At least for now.
d'oh you're right! lol. In any case I've decided to take the plunge and get the LG 240hz OLED. I WISH it had BFI like this Zowie but I do a lot of mixed gaming, competitive and single player, so I'll take the increased pixel density, contrast, HDR and color performance.

The RTINGs review is up for insiders. Is anyone an insider and able to post the input lag findings?

Hello, I see you have experience with Acer 390Hz one, can you share please your opinion on XL2566 and Acer 390hz(comparison)? I have been using Acer 390Hz more than half a year(and with VBR on), really eager to know how it stands in comparison to new Zowie TN, thank you in advance.
