Following the guide step by step I managed to add 85hz and 120hz in detailed resolution working successfully. However 60hz does not work, screen goes black. I tried adding 60hz in detailed resolution and extension block and nothing, even deleted default 60hz and then I have to safeboot to reset everything . Has anyone faced something like this ? How did you solved it ?

Tried with Nvidia card no black screen @60hz. Before trying with nvidia, I had AMD card and had black screen problem like you. Now I installed AMD again and 60hz works.

Imo there is something about the drivers that affect this but no idea what is really causing this. Try to change HZ numbers a little lower than the default values in CRU app. Instead of 240 try 239.

Not working with 239 either. 60hz does not want to work or I’m not doing something right. Too bad cuz I wanted to try sekiro. Sadly back to default settings now.

Try a different video port DisplayPort vs HDMI sometimes have problems with extra large VT's

Another technique is to large-vertical-total a slightly higher Hz such as 65 or 70 Hz, then move radio button from "Vertical Total Calculator" back to "Maual", and edit refresh rate to 60Hz while keeping the same vertical total calculated for 65 Hz. Once you have a working large VT of a slightly higher refresh rate, it can be used for lower refresh rates that didn't work with even-larger vertical totals.

Hi Chief.
Thanks to this trick I managed to make it work with 4153 VT instead of 4500 VT as per your initial guide
I have now this crazy flicker on desktop and still noticing in games when qft at 60HZ, but 85HZ is fine. Is this normal ?

60Hz single strobe is not intended for desktop use -- it is meant for motion content.

I suggest using a higher Hz for Windows desktop, and using 60 Hz single strobe only when it's beneficial (e.g. emulators)

60Hz single strobe should look similar QFT and non-QFT, so if you're seeing flicker differences, this might be due to your settings (e.g. short pulse widths).

Which port are you using? HDMI or DisplayPort?
Which GPU are you using?

I see that the VT4500 tweaks are sometimes working and sometimes failing, so understanding the pattern would be mighty helpful!

Hello Chief,
I’ll keep this in mind. For reference, I’m using the display port cable from the monitor’s box, I don’t have any other hdmi to try. And it’s connected to a rtx 3060 Ti gaming oc from gigabyte.

I got a question.

What are the pro's and con's of using framecap + v-sync vs only framecap=Hz vs framecap above Hz target with QFT?

Question again. Why the 278khz horizontal rate at 240hz when the edid has the horizontal range at 255khz-255khz? Also I swear after making custom resolutions having the horizontal rate closer to 255khz while less LVT leads to more space without crosstalk. Because even with large total of it goes above the 278khz, that space without the crosstalk gets smaller.

Hey bud. Not trying to dismiss you but there are good YouTubers who go into this. Basically, you can go with in-game frame caps vs v-sync on trading off input lag from latency vs perceived smoothness. In-game caps offer less input lag but may still feel more stuttery than comfortable for those sensitive to it. V-sync causes higher latency overall but frametimes move at a lower range as far as I'm aware. What I love to have is RTss scanline sync for my monitor set at 120hz with a higher LVT. This allows qft and v-sync on level of smoothness without v-sync on input lag. Drawback is GPU usage has to stay below 90%. I have an AMD GPU. Another option I use is 120hz refresh rate (large LVT), no frame cap, Radeon enhanced sync on and Radeon anti-lag for when I know my card will push higher framerates and hit 97-99% usage. Anti-lag is only useful when GPU usage is that high as the GPU becomes the bottleneck.
