That will do the job. Thank you for doing these.

You managed to get good tracking accuracy for 240 fps shot.

Looks like '8QM is doing same devil's horns type strobe as '27/259QM. Btw you say clarity positon is middle, does this mean you can modify it with ELMB+SYNC enabled or only with ELMB (without sync)? Also what about clarity level? Is overdrive also modifiable or greyed out?

VG279QM ELMB SYNC at 120 fps

VG279QM ELMB SYNC at 60 fps

when ELMB Sync is enabled only Clarity position is adjustable: Top, Middle, Bottom. Overdrive and Clarity level are greyed out.

vg258qm vs x25f.png

VG258QM left, X25 f right

Both displayport copied image

Here is photo taken from iphone 240fps slowdown, opened with VLC media player and slowed down even further to so slow that i can see frame by frame. Both set 240hz, adaptive sync off, both on best OD recommended. I did same test with 58qm 280hz and X25 f 240hz result same. It isnt placebo, Asus has lower inputlag. I do later test so I turn off Vividpixel and Sharpness.

Retested sharpness settings off and Valorant. Same result. I can feel the difference so I bet it is more than Rtings results 2.4ms vs 2.6ms
Do you still get the same results when you swap the DP ports on the graphics cards? Sometimes the video ports can have slightly different input lag.

By the way, just in case you didn't know, the VG258QM has a hidden Overdrive in the service menu. it's faster than OD3 while having less overshoot than OD4.

Interesting. This makes VG258QM first monitor that can change pulse phaze (clarity position) when vrr strobing. Thank you for info.

I know, tried it but it fu*** up my OSD and there is some glitches and chinese :D, not sure if hidden OD worked. Im doing Omen vs 8Q again with swapped ports and cables, both 240hz. Last test between these two since Im going to sell Omen.

Same result, I can even feel the difference. Same result Valorant and Windows window open test.

I have 10 000h+ competitive experience since I started CS 1998.

So here is Ufo 1440PPS picture for the following settings:

280hz, Adaptive sync On, Variable OD Level 3, CRU VRR range 48-279hz, FPS cap 275fps on Rivatuner/in-game, contrast 40, brightness 50, AMD saturation +30%

Picture changed, I did add wrong picture earlier.

The service menu OD trick works on the VG258QM, too. OD section in OSD looks corrupt, but it does smth.

Also, this picture shows why i sadly did not like this screen..
Very apparent overshoot on top, but ghosting on bottom row.
Get's worse and more noticable on 1920/2400pps, of course.

Yeah sure, its not even close to best LCDs and is far from perfect. But somehow it looks even smoother than x25 f side by side when I cap fps 275fps and turn VRR on in Games (Not UFO). And has lower inputlag as I mentioned before.

You mean that I didnt read your post about corrupted OSD while hidden OD? I did. I like level 3 most.

Edit. Can inputlag vary between the picture modes (Gaming, Native, sRGB, Cinema...)?

Thanks for answering me, I really appreciate it.
Also I saw a new monitor (ASUS TUF Gaming VG249QM1A) and I haven't found any reviews of it.
Its a good monitor? It's pretty similar to VG259QM, is maybe better?
The panel itself is most likely better since as far as I know there's only 1 manufacturer for 1080 23.8"240hz IPS which is the same for the XG2431/24G2ZU(/E)/XG249CM and this panel is generally faster than first gen 240hz 24.5" IPS.

The real question is if the VG249QM1A has a good selection of overdrives because for example the 24G2ZU/E is not even close to the XG2431 in terms of response times while still using the same panel.

The S2522HG is probably still the fastest unstrobed 240hz IPS (with avg 2.7ms 10-90% gamma corrected).
hi axaro1, i currently have a 24g2z but i was considering upgrading to the xg2431 because of the better response times as seen on rtings.

can i check where did the information that the s2522hg is probably the fastest unstrobed 240hz ips? if i were to buy the xg2431 i wont use the strobing feature so i'm wondering if it's more worth to get the s2522hg. im having a sale now where i live and the xg2431 is going for $332 usd and the s2522hg is going for $265 usd.

Thanks!
