Managed to "overclock" 24GL600f

Post by 97dake » 30 Nov 2022, 01:33

Hello,
Usually 24GL600f would say out of range for any hz above 153. So I decided to use Large Vertical Totals, following the Chief's guide. However, maximum pixel clock allowed by the display was only 340Mhz so there wasn't much room for increasing Vertical Totals, unless lowering res or refresh rate. When looking around in the CRU, I found couple settings that seem to allow go above 340MHz pixel clock. So I put 380+MHz clock and managed to squeeze in quite some Vertical Totals.Image

Here are the settings I changed, but I honestly don't know what some of them do. Should have done some proper research

Also, there is HDMI 2.1 support tab, where there some options like auto-low latency mode and etc, however I don't know whether they work or not.

I don't seem to have any visible issues with overclocked panel, nor I noticed significant improvement in motion clarity. Maybe it's just me. However, one thing is clear to me is that input lag has increased for some reason. Maybe it is the monitor controller not managing high pixel clock, or HDMI cable is not managing, IDK.
What are your thoughts?
